HMMWV Rim Source
I found a good source for the parts to convert 8 bolt HMMWV rims to CUCV rims. Daniel@ www.usa6x6.com . I purchased the rims converted to 6 holes. I will let you know how they look and perform.
As soon as the truck gets out of paint and repair, I am going to run in by skyjacker and superlift. I will keep you guys up to speed on what they say and quote. I am putting wrangler bia's with new rims on my truck.
will advise.
I am looking to change out the stock rims and wheels. I would like to stick to the same steel-painted rim. Can someone recommend the largest rim and wheel that will fit under a stock truck?
I am in the process of repainting and would like to go ahead and take care of the rims.
Mine came with a thick, black under coating. It was manufacture in late 1983 per the placard. I have a little rust in the door frame and foot well. Most of the rust appears to be a fucntion of holes in the roof. It might have had lights on top at sometime. When they removed them they left...
Does anyone know where you can get CUCV seat covers? I checked with Saturn and they are sold out. I like the one canvas seat back cover that came with my truck, but I would like to have back and bottom covers for both seats.
I would appreciate any leads.
trip to maryland
yes drove up from the big easy. Nice drive this time of year with all the fall color. I can understand the "no inspections" part with Ab. The site is quite busy with allot of gun testing. What they need to do is move the equipment out of the secure areas so we can inspect...
Thought it might be good to post the details on my pickup from Ab, Maryland.
The pickup went really well. The Gov. Liquiation guy was a real pain in the rear to make contact with and he never returns phone calls/almost never answers his cell.
The site has allot of pickups and blazers ready...
the term "chunk"
Acutally I hate to differ with you....the term chunk is commonly used in our racing circuit to refer to the rear diff. Let's try not to highlight our ignorance.
I am not looking for a scrap yard special, rather a good OEM reseller.
Guys need some help....
Upon inspection of the rear chunk, I found one of the spider gears is missing a tooth. Does anyone have any suggestion of where I can pick up the parts? The local GM shop is searching.
thanks for the help.

I am in the planning stages for a M1009 purchase. With a truck that has been sitting for more than six months, what drain and flush procedures would the group recommend? What other pre-startup preparations should be considered?
