After all parts are checked and up to par, do yourself the biggest favor possible and set the injectors by the height method.
Torque setting will get you close, but to get the smoothest idle, and best power, I've always found setting with a dial indicator to be the best.
The TM for this engine...
I had room for 4 batteries, so thats how many I put in.
I get 'blems' from the Deka distributor, I tell him what I want, he comes around every Wednesday.
Usually costs about half of the list price compared to the regular ones.
Blems have no label, and the case is branded 'blem'.
So far...
Good use for P/S pump , I have had one modified for aux. hydraulics on a snow plow.
I used a piggyback pump on the engine oil pump for the power steering.
I could have saved a lot of trouble and time if I had just left the P/S alone, and used the piggyback for the snowplow hydraulics.
RE: Looking for a good running/rebuilt Cummins NHC 250 Diese
Ditto above.
I bought a 'in the can' motor from Vermont Commercial Salvage, for my m51, I paid more for the motor than I paid for the whole truck.
A 290 cummins is a common engine at truck boneyards, sometimes they can be had...
WillWagner's post brings up a very good point, make sure when the pedal is planked, the throttle shaft is actually at the full fuel position. Ishould have caught that.
(Our posts crossed, I was typing while he was posting)
Sounds like it's not getting enough fuel.
Start at the tank, pull the dip tube, look for gunk in it.
Check the tank vent.
Check all the fittings and lines up to the pump, look through them or pass a cleaning rod through them, assume nothing is clean.
Cap the line at the tank, back feed fuel...
Went to trhe Redball show at Gilbert Pa earlier today, lots of very clean machinery there, good turnout.
What I didn't find was new glass for my m51, as there was not much in the way of parts for the big stuff.
If anyone knows of a good source within a hundred miles or so of Gilbert (I live...
Hello 4x4.

Please PM me.
Also, You don't have your contact info posted, this makes it difficult to reach you.
Thanks

First determine the nature of the wet spot, is it brake fluid or gear oil.
If gear oil, new boot is needed at steering knuckle.
If brake fluid, at the least, a new set of cups is needed in that brake cylinder.
Boot is easier , brake cylinder requires disassembly of that side, of the front...
Browning (a part of dana/spicer now, I believe) made auxillary transmissions for OTR trucks.
the brownie needs to go between the main box and the transfer if you want to keep all wheel drive.
I think you will have problems getting something to fit without extensive modifications.
I have an 11 foot funnel plow on mine.
With the winch in place, the plow will be about 7 feet infront of the axel, when fully angled.
This makes driveways and turn-a-rounds difficult at times.
Welcome to the world of Big Iron, if you don't intend to plow miles of roadway with it, it is...
hi again, i relpaced the bushing behind the seal as well.
accessory drive wil have a small amount of play, this is normal.
if yours shakes back and forth an eighth inch or so, put in the new bushing.
i replaced my seal some time back, i took out the radiator .
seal went in no problem, no leaks since.
not a hard job.
no idea what that thick washer is for.
gas motor is a good thing, mine will start at below zero tempatures easily.
coupler for hydraulic pump can be wear item, look for rusty streaks, it should have some lube for the splines.
clutch is a bear to replace, if it is good, the engine should stall if you engage the clutch in high gear...
