    Multifuel Gensets?

The MEP series 3K, 5K, 10K, gen sets were designed to run on diesel only from the factory, in the military we did run them on JP-8, as well as the trucks, using JP-8 the fuel consumption charts in the manual went right dowm the toilet! IIRC the manual for the 10K states fuel consumption to be...

    12/24v led tail lights

The military composites will run off both voltages, I use them on my M101 trailer and I pull it with an M37 (24V), M882 (12V) and my Ford Expo and they work fine. I've also wired up trailers with commercial 24V LED lamps and those also will run fine on both voltages, and you could not see any...

    Deuce water jacket, cylinder head

Not too bad a job, I find it easier to remove the valve covers for a little extra room, there are gaskets where it meets the head.

    Over Charging

Tapping off one battery WILL cause problems, I have this issue with fire departments all the time, they hook up a radio or lights to the rear battery on the deuce, it will cause an imbalance in the batterys and causes front battery to overcharge and the rear to go flat. I have them put those...

    How crazzy am I

When I was a military instructor teaching recovery there was one rule we taught that was NEVER to be broken! NEVER EVER tow a disabled vehicle that is heaver than the towing vehicle! (we didn't recommend towing a 5 ton wrecker with another 5 ton wrecker) True the 5 ton has provisions for...

    Headlight location

The high mounted were used early only on the winch equipped trucks, the early non winch equipped had lower mounted headlamps, later all trucks had the high mounted lights. My guess somebody got smart and figured out they really didn't need 4 different parts!

Why do IP heads go bad?

Another issue is the military for the most part uses JP-8 aviation kerosene instead of diesel, JP-8 doesn't have the lubricity of diesel and does cause some accelerated wear in the IP head and other components that require the lubrication of the fuel, NATO testing for the "one fuel on the...
