    Brush truck water capacity?

Here we allow 500 GL on a 2 1/2 for a brush truck and 1000 for a tender, tenders are restricted to road use only, 1000 / 2000 for a 5 ton. Biggest problem is suspension breakage and loss of braking capacity. Oddly enough the M50 series tanker was 1000 gallon, but if you read the manual it only...

Total destruction of all End-Use items (end of trucks???)

Well folks, I found out today that the DRMO's are to look at the trucks with a DIC of 3 and if deemed "safe" they will be allowed to release them for reissue to FFP and LESO etc. Also they will go the GSA's excess express as excess / surplus. I don't know at this point if they will go to GL or...

Total destruction of all End-Use items (end of trucks???)

Well I can't say for sure but my understanding is that they may let the stuff in GL go through but will not send any more for sale, also they may be shipping these trucks to a central holding area for the time being, ultimately they would go the way of the M151 / M561 series vehicles...

Total destruction of all End-Use items (end of trucks???)

I received word of this late last week, the change is in effect as of Jan 1st, frankly I'm surprised that they haven't pulled the stuff that is in GL already.

Total destruction of all End-Use items (end of trucks???)

doghead, I haven't been denied. My job is aquisition and 90% + of our aquisitions are from DRMO for reuse, these changes will effect our operation, but if the trucks won't be available for federal agency use because of this change they certainly will not be sold, well at least as whole vehicles!

Total destruction of all End-Use items (end of trucks???)

emmando22 This info came directly from our sponsoring federal agency, believe me we are not pleased! <And M35A2C, 2320009260873 > The DIC code is a "3" for this truck,Oddly a M1009 is a "3" while an M1008 (2320-01-123-2671) is coded "6" mutilation not required except overseas. So far I...

Total destruction of all End-Use items (end of trucks???)

I've received some disturbing info lately, DOD / DRMS has changed the Demil Integrity code on most DEMIL "Q" vehicles to a "3". This code requires mutilation of the item. Vehicles with this code will only be processed for reutilization by DOD and sales by FMS, they will not be offered to civil...

    Replacing the pilot bearing

A nice clean way is to use a 7/8" tap, run it all the way to the bottom and keep turning, it will usually cause the bushing to back out!

    Deuce leaking brake fluid

Yup! my experiance is the airpack is leaking internally, fluid is getting past the piston seal into the air side of the unit, a rebuild or replacement is in order. It goes without saying DON"T DRIVE IT until it's fixed! While in the military I had one hydro lock because of this issue, the rear...

Fording Vent to Master Cylinder Venting Brake Fluid?

My experance with that problem is it's the air pack, just because it's new don't mean it's good! We take the vent line off the master cyl and use an axle vent in its place, there was a time the army determined that fluid contamination was comming from crap in the vent line.

    Just need to vent........

I'll second that, but what I think, is that is the exception to the rule in your case, a couple weeks ago I was picking up from Riley DRMO and I looked all over the yard for the slave cables that the DRMO yard folks leave in the lot as a courtesy, well again there were some folks that had...

    Just need to vent........

Re: RE: Re: Just need to vent........ Well if thats the policy it sure isn't being followed!! I was at Ft. Riley picking up yesterday (official business) and there was a yard full of yahoo's picking up trucks, and no GL guy in sight, This was out of the shared yard with DRMO no less! I had...

    Check this GamaGoat travesty

Those goats were aquired under the Forest Service FEPP program and are at the forestry center near OK city, they are still federal property. under the FEPP guidelines they MUST be returned to DRMO when they are no longer needed, (same with the HMMWV or M151 series). Can't sell them, can't cann...

    super single rim question

Same wheel is used for the super single's, the tires are just 11.00X20 instead of the 9.00X20's, of course the rear hubs are "flipped" to change the offset. The army started to change some of the M35A2's over to super singles, they used a commercially available tire instead of the NDCC's.
