chicklin, maybe your lift pump is a little weak? Here's what I do if the truck hasn't been run in awhile: turn on the accessory switch & wait about 30 seconds or until you can hear the fuel recirculating back into the tank. This will give the pump enough time to get fuel up to the injector...
RE: Re: RE: Using a Block Tester
You can also tell when the thermostat opens by feeling the upper radiator hose. It will become very hot & you will see coolant circulating. When the thermostat opens, she's up to temperature.
Thanks for the story & thanks to all of you that serve & have served. Got to see a few Blackbirds at air shows & it has always been one of my favorites.
Just curious as to what everybody else does with their deuces. I use mine all summer to pick up square bales. Have a stake pocket mount for a hay loader. Truck is tall enough to put hay directly in the loft from the bed. Then we transfer hay from one barn to another during the winter. Had...
I went the same route as FreightTrain. I got the biggest CCA batteries availabe at Wally world & used 2x4's to make a nice snug fit. Spins the ol' girl over with plenty of power. Main reason I get my batteries there is that no matter where I go, I should be able to get warranty replacements...
I was guessing 35k conservatively. Wonder what kind of tags he had on that rig? In Missouri, you can get 6k, 12k, 18k, 24k which is what I have on my F-350, 30k, & I don't know after that. CDL required for 30k & up. No way I would have driven that rig either.
RE: Re: State Farm says they want my business
I have State Farm historical & it is about $72 a year. When they were writing the policy, they wanted me to bring it by for pics. They took a few & sent them in to the main office. The desk drivers there said it "was missing something on the...
I work on industrial machinery & most industrial controls now are 24VDC. When we junk out machines I grab a few relays. I already have these relays installed on my truck: brake light switch to give 12V to my trailer brake controller, relay for my dash lights to run a 12V bulb for my pyro...
Heading to a show this weekend so I am currently installing a microswitch that will be hooked to the master cylinder rod with a spring. It's kind of an unhandy place to mount a switch but I found a great place to put it. The microswitch will contact as soon as I hit the pedal & the spring can...
Currently woodland camo, but I want to paint it back to the original olive drab with white markings. Not sure what that color is called, but it is more of a dark brownish green color.
If you have the air operated switch, you won't lose any fluid. I also did this upgrade but mine quit working too. And when they did work, they didn't come on unless you were really braking hard. I'm tired of messing with it, so I'm installing a microswitch operated off of the brake pedal.
Had to repair my fuel line awhile ago. The copper line was leaking where it comes out of the primary filter. I made a run through the timber one day when it was real cold to break the ice on my pond. Must have hit some brush or something because it looked like the line was disturbed. I was...
