What is this? M35A3 underhood part

We have some Chevy school buses with the Cat 3116 motors. The master cylinder is on the drivers side, since the brake pedal is there. Don't see why a master cylinder would be on the passengers side either. Mark M35A2 Deuce M105A2 Trailer M101A1 Trailer 3) Rokons

    Trailer Idea

I would pull it with a regular whole Deuce myself. Was thinking it would a good use of parts that aren't typically used. It's kind of a waste to use good Deuce axles on a trailer. It seems they would be heavy. Maybe split a piece of square tube & weld to the axle, so it would bolt to the...

    Trailer Idea

Been thinking (which is scary enough) With all the Bobbed jobs going on how about this for a trailer. Take two M105 frames & axles, the rear suspension and bed off the M35. Put them all together and make a nice tandem trailer. I think the 105 axles would pull a lot easier than M35 axles. Would...

How Long To Charge The Batteries?

dabtl, We have an old displaced hillbilly that dose our alternator & starter work. He is insists that an alternator isn't a battery charger. If you have dead batteries fully charge them, if you install new batteries fully charge them before you install them. If you think your batteries at all...

    Deuce Fan Clutch

Dabtl, We have a couple 1995 Chevrolet school buses, Blue bird chassis, 3116 Cat, 5 spd. They refused to heat up in the winter, they would literally run so cold they wouldn't run. New thermostats, cold weather fronts, nothing helped. Finally we took the fans off in early December installed them...

    Hauled a Load of Firewood

m16ty, It works slick cutting with my processor, last summer cut enough for two loads, three rows in the back of my 1/2 ton pick-up, piled it even with box rail. I have to fuel up ever other day, so I cut enough fire wood for two loads. That way if some SOB steals my cut up wood I'm not out...

    Fuel Jelling Problems / Questions

Crane Truck, It uses the hot coolant off the engine, there is a heat exchanger in the tank the water passes through. Try not to show much interest in the trucking end of the business, they might make me drive the damn thing. Have enough to do, he leaves the shop at 4am and dose not get back...

    Fuel Jelling Problems / Questions

This is a little late since it's August. We work in northern WI, not as cold as northern MN but we have our moments. In our woods equipment, we run straight #1 from deer hunting season in November until break up in March. We don't have any gelling problems. There is nothing more miserable than a...

    Engine oil type

We have a Mack truck on the road hauling pulp wood. We change it with 15W40 Rotella, between 9,000 & 10,000 miles. Figure the Deuce can get by with one change a year, don't think it will get 10,000 miles per year, I like to change oil once a year no matter how few miles it gets. My Two Cents. Mark

    Hauled a Load of Firewood

Loaded up the Deuce with firewood, used my 653E John Deere with a FabTek 4 roller processor head. Just set the cut length to 20", took an hour & 15 minutes to cut up two cords of wood into 20" firewood. Dropped it into the stack, got up on the load a few times to straighten it up, no heavy...

replace split rim with bead seat?

eldgenb, If your using tubeless tires, are you a good welder? You need to have leak proof welds to keep air in the tires. From what I remember helping our truck driver change tires. Anti-Theft System Suggestions?

One thought I had is a bracket to lock the shift lever to the dash, in reverse. Along with a hidden toggle switch on starter button circuit, the standard chain around the steering wheel. And the old stand by chain links welded to the door and the cab for a paddle lock. If you can keep them out...

How fast do you drive your Deuce?

When I was active duty in Germany, I would wedge my toe under the dash & drive my heel down as hard possible on the foot feed on what ever I drove. Jeep, CUCV, M880, M817, M35, VW van, didn't matter. Never had any engine trouble on any thing. The VW van on those steep down hills would buck a...
