Brakes
Pumping the brakes to get them to work can be air in the line but it can also mean the brakes need adjustment. If everything is adjusted correctly the amount of brake fluid it takes to apply the brakes is minimal (fluids don't compress). If the brakes are out of adjustment then it...
Coolant
precharged with DCA/SCA.You will also need to pick up some test strips(usually a couple bucks for a 5 pack) and a bottle or two of additive???
Thanks
step
If your not worried about having the "correct/stock" part I have seen front bumper steps made out of a piece of steel cable (guess you could use chain too) running through a piece of expanded metal stair tread up through two holes (one each end of piece of cable) in the bumper with a cable...
Was looking through the GL site and ran across this. Seems to me someone was looking for one.

Great find
Great find, I was wondering if you could post some pictures of the muffler setup on the second truck back in the ordinal photo. Perhaps showing the clamp location(s) and where it is attached to the J pipe. Thanks
momentary switch
Why not put a momentary (switch is open=non-conducting when pressed) in the line. When starting depress the button soon as engine starts (or thumb goes numb) let go. Buzzer off and on when you need it to be.
engine tranny combo
What about an engine tranny swap from an school bus. Used ones are fairly cheap and they might rpms to make up for the lower gearing of the deuce???
Brake parts
I got my wheel cylinders from Ted's Trucks. $25 If i remember correctly. Also wheel cylinder kits $4.00. I would change the axle seals while you have the hub off as well. Use the proper wheel bearing grease (search the forum ). Also!!!!! pay close attention to the...
Canvak
That looks like the stuff I put on my canvas top. Although, its a silicone based stuff in a metal can. Easy to do just put in pump sprayer and spray on canvas. Maybe the paraffin stuff is in the bottle. Here in Ohio you can get it at (as well as other places I am sure) the...
Canvas
I added 3 boards as per a PS article on droopy canvas. I guess I could add a couple more (maybe a few shingles too). I was just hoping for an easy fix; something like pulling the ropes a certain way or something like that. By the way, the boards are chamfered and painted and have...
roof top pool
Would be nice to park out of the weather but for now it has to stay outside (Motor home cover in winter). Spray the canvas with silicone every year or two. The canvas came with the truck and has some age on it but holding up well.
Has anyone found an effective way to get rid of the water that pools on top of the canvas over the cargo area on the 35? I added the extra boards as per the PS magazine article but it doesn't seem to be enough. Thanks
Radiator
You might take it to your local truck radiator shop and have one recored. Might be cheaper than new. I have had a few done for cars and most of the time its cheaper and 1-3 days turnaround time. If the seams are actually blowing out, probably cheap insurance as well, replace the...
extensions
Kipman, just have the one, its yours if you want it. Also, did you check out the kit MilTrucks had? He is in your neck of the woods just off the bypass.
Ohio
I licensed mine as a historical vehicle---$11.50 for fifty years. Can't beat that.

Stoneguard
The bottom stone guard (expanded metal screen) will fit. Just reverse it so the side brackets point out (keep same up-down orientation ) and put two longer bolts through the top where it bolted onto the upper part. Rockman, if you want a picture I can take one but its a bit dark...
Winch pictures
Here are a few pictures of installing a winch. Sorry about the order. There is a lot to do and I am not quite finished yet. Hardest part is rounding up all the small stuff. Its out there though, I got a lot of stuff at swap meets. Don't make the same mistake I did, only...
