Chris called me yesterday at about 1800 hrs at the top of Monteagle. He was giving the truck a once over before heading down the mountain. I haven't heard from him since, so I assume everything went well. he was going to head over towards Savannah to pick up his M105 from Ft. Stewart.

If you have the 195 degree thermostat, you are right on. My truck shows about 190 on the road.

Did you have time to put on the de-splined hubs? Also, do you have the interaxle shaft pulled out? I would have thought you would have made a tad better fuel mileage than 8, but I don't know what RPM you have been running.

Is the drum worn badly? You may need to have it turned, or replaced.

RE: GL loading at Columbus Go pull the M103 off base to an equipment rental place. Then go back and get the CUCV. The equipment rental place can rent you a crane for a couple of hours and you can sling the trailer up into the deuce. Now, make sure you really lock down the trailer in the deuce...

M105 fits in a deuce with no problems.

Put the trailer in the deuce and towbar the PU.....

RE: I am Back from LA I see the CUCV's have dried mud on top of the dash. Does not bode well for the engines, trannies, etc.

Bjorn runs his interaxle shaft out, so he has kept the front flanges in place for that very reason. I have the interaxle shaft out of mine for a u-joint replacement, and had to re-install my splined flanges to keep from getting stuck on wet grass. Kenny has been stuck on wet pavement before.......

Watch the GL auctions in California. Deuces bring around 2-2500 at French Camp, and they look fairly decent.

I bought a new one from FLMV.com a while back. I think it was about $20, and came with all the hardware including the little wire loops.
