RE: I am Back from LA
Watch out for "Bought it and haven't had a chance to get it started" E-Bay auctions. I wonder how many people will try to towbar those trucks and fry the wheel brgs?
Some of the trucks went low enough that they would have been worthwhile as sheetmetal donors. You would...

Chris called me yesterday at about 1800 hrs at the top of Monteagle. He was giving the truck a once over before heading down the mountain. I haven't heard from him since, so I assume everything went well. he was going to head over towards Savannah to pick up his M105 from Ft. Stewart.

To get a clear picture, rub a little exhaust soot into the lettering, then wipe the face off with the palm of your hand. The soot will help highlight the letters without doing any damage.
To do the same on a gun, use white chalk dust on the tip of a finger.
Did you have time to put on the de-splined hubs? Also, do you have the interaxle shaft pulled out? I would have thought you would have made a tad better fuel mileage than 8, but I don't know what RPM you have been running.

I find myself in need of a generator, 5.5 to about 8kw or so. This unit will run my shop, and be used for back-up power for the house in case of a major storm.
Now, I can use a 208 3 phase unit, or a 120-240 single phase unit. I would like to know what the owners of the various military...
Find someone with an ultrahigh pressure washer. They are usually 40Kpsi and will strip anything. Set the regulator on about 30Kpsi with a rotary head and you can take the truck down to bare metal in short order. I stripped a 20' covered horsetrailer, inside and out, in 3 hours. It removes all...
RE: GL loading at Columbus
Go pull the M103 off base to an equipment rental place. Then go back and get the CUCV. The equipment rental place can rent you a crane for a couple of hours and you can sling the trailer up into the deuce.
Now, make sure you really lock down the trailer in the deuce...
Bjorn runs his interaxle shaft out, so he has kept the front flanges in place for that very reason. I have the interaxle shaft out of mine for a u-joint replacement, and had to re-install my splined flanges to keep from getting stuck on wet grass.
Kenny has been stuck on wet pavement before.......
I understand they make great campers.
Personally (and this is just my opinion!), if I didn't need the 109, I would get a regular cargo truck. If I had any need for the 109, I would get it if the price was right.
I have seen some 109's go fairly cheaply because they had sprag t-cases. I saw one...
With 500 CCA batteries, you have a potential for 2000 amps for just a second at full discharge (read short circuit).
Way more than enough to weld with, and definately enough to start a serious fire. You can also blow a battery, and in the right circumstance, kill yoursely.
Be careful! I would...
