Who needed the door mechanism for the Pax side?

All My CRS (can't remember s***) is kicking in. I have a door mechanism for one of our members, and can't remember who I promised it to. Can the person who needed it please drop me a PM? Thanks! First thing that goes is your memory. Then, something else goes. I can't remember what that second...

    Annoying clanking

I'd bet strongly on a u-joint. Block the wheels securely, put the vehicle in neutral, and crawl under. Check all joints for wobble or looseness. An old trick is to look for rust on the spider. That usually indicates that a cap is bad and the bearings are turning to dust and leaking out.

    modifying fuel pods

RE: Re: RE: Re: modifying fuel pods We had a ford F600 fire truck with a home made tank. I almost rolled the thing coming back from a fire one night where we had used about 1/2 of the 600 gallons of water. turned out there were no baffles in the tank. We cut through the top and did a "tic tac...

M151 still alive and well in Sai Gon

Someone in Saigon tries to sell them on E-Bay from time to time....... Now wouldn't that be fun to try to import!! A US vehicle given to a friendly country, captured by the communists and then owned by an enemy country....... Yeah. I want to bid on that!!!

source for parking brake pads or civi parts

There is a seller on e-bay who has the shoes without linings for $6 for 2 pair. I think you can find them by searching "M35A2". If you get a pair of them, you can take them to a brake shop and have them re-lined.

Crazy idea for filtering used oil.

I have 220 gallons waiting for filtration now. I use a 5 micron bag from McMaster carr. A centrifuge would work, if you had a continuous cycle machine. most of the ones I have used have had a 5 or 7 gallon bowl. The liquid is fed in through a spreader plate and spins out. As the bowl fills, the...

    Research project - help needed

RE: Research project David Keep us in the loop on your book progress. I think I can speak for most of us when I make a few statements: 1) We would all like a copy. 2) We would all like to help. 3) Most of us wish we had a "Bible" on the REO deuce series trucks. 4) As long as we don't attract...

Looking for deuce owners, 0125-xxxxx vin, NK0XXX reg numbers

David Where is the registration number you are referring to? Is it on the data tag? Mine still has the original data tag with the Kaiser logo silk screened onto it. Would a batch of M35's that were upgraded from gas to LDT multifuel, and who got new air-shift t-cases and the steering column...

    RPM???

Kenny, Kenny, Kenny, Why weren't you born with better eyesight!!!!!!! The Continental engine troubleshooting manual for the LDS 465 gives a maximum no load speed of 2850-2900 RPM. This manual is in the TM section and is a must read for deuce owners. It gives a teardown and reassembly procedure...

    Flooded GL Truck Visit

RE: I am Back from LA I guess if the water never got over the air cleaner inlets, and the intake and exhaust system were tight, the engines could be OK. You would definately want to inspect one of those trucks CAREFULLY before bidding.

    new style light switch blues...

The "Gee whiz" factor of the new switches is cool. However, the old mechanical switches are cool in their own way too. I like the mechanical type, just fits the deuce better to me.

What is a fair priced to pay for engine parts?

I bought a running engine in the can, complete, for $445 from GL. Engine was removed from a running truck that was wrecked, some pan damage from the front drive flange hitting the front sump. Of course, I got lucky. I have had long blocks priced to me for anywhere from $150 to 600. This was...

RE: Re: RE: Great supplier for all parts as well as......... If I have a great supplier, I will post his/her info. This secretive stuff smacks of "Scam". Kinda like the sites that want you to pay $25 to get the lowdown on govt. auctions. You know, all the free stuff............. I may be...
