    Log of my M1151A.

Awesome, m1151's are my favorite, especially in camo!

    Metal X doors?

I'm pretty sure these doors are made by federal, not factory doors with skins added. Look at the last pic, you cannot see the molded x pattern in the door. This is consistent with the federal doors which are all steel with no fiberglass. Also, the track for the window latch in the last pic is...

    Metal X doors?

I believe those may be from federal military parts.

Door strikers: hard vs soft doors?

Yes, they are completely different. The soft door strikers are like a formed wire design, while the hard door strikers are a solid metal rod. Can you post pictures?

Humvees are still in production by AM General, and are expected to stay in service until 2050.

Question of understanding: Decommissioning of HMMWV in the US forces

The HMMWV isnt going anywhere anytime soon. It works for what it needs to do. Look at the M2HB 50 cal. In service since 1933, because it just works. Just my opinion.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Starting the process of building a GPK using the factory brackets (gonna fab the panels myself from aluminum).

Nice HMMWV to say the least

Its a cool truck, not gonna hate on it. Glad to see people enjoying the hobby. That said, the side view mirror on the non-windowed cupola doesnt make a lot of sense lol.

Banks Hybrid Power 3.0L v6 hmmwv

This will never happen. The most important things about a humvee are survivability and reliability. Both will be severely compromised in a hybrid system. Battery fires and complicated electronics, just what the humvee needs 🙄

Rubber coating for parts near battery?

Make sure your batteries are properly fastened with a hold-down bracket if not already.

    HMMWV M1151a1 turret

Looks like you already have the roof adapter, thats a hard to find item. If you want a full rotating turret, you need about 5K in parts. Bearing, gear ring, tray, hatch, etc. If you want a non-rotating hatch that opens and closes, you will need to fabricate it yourself. I would either build...

    Hood seal

Thanks, what a stupid design 🙄 Lets seal off 90% of the hood except right above the engine valley. Anyone come up with a better solution?

    Hood seal

Trying to figure something out...first of all I'm referring to the hood seals that go on the top edge of the hood, towards the bottom of the windshield. My truck has 2 seals, but they dont quite meet in the middle. There is an approx 12" gap between them that allows water into the valley of the...
