That is a great project. I have wanted a M109 for this reason. With whatever plan you use I would have a hinged deck under the bed on the floor to access space underneath rather than the door in front of the deck. It may get to the point that only your boy could get items in & out of that space...
For the longest time I just thought my horn did not work. until my baby girl was playing around in the 85 M1009. She hit the horn and it sounded off. I questioned whether it was my truck that did it. But I tested and realized it doesn't work while running but does turned off. Any suggestions?
4 color camo?
How about 4 color camo? This is an orignal brochure. They may not have ever been issued like this but I am thinking of painting my 84 M1009 like this.
Is the engine & tranny still mounted? I assume he has a fork lift or something to load it with. I'll be going through Montgomery this week if plans work out & I may take it off his hands.
Great job on the truck. The jack mounts under the passenger seat. Of the many pics I have of mine I do not have one of the jack mounted. As soon as I think about it I'll post one here.
:ditto: what he said. My pioneer trailer has the wsame chassis as your 101A1. Left side is opposite of the normal rotation. I do not think there are markings on the studs.
Good looking truck. :) In addition to what others have offered you can go to a dupont paint dealer and get the proper maroon color dye for the 84-86 year truck dash pads. They can look it up in their catalogs for you. Also I would not worry about the tailgate I am sure although never seen one...
My 85 M1009 & Pioneer trlr
The pics of the before for the 1009 were taken Dec of 2002 and scanned from 35mm. Still looking for the yellowish desert tan paint.
I lost the original pics of the trailer but had some after it got blasted.
Thanks for all of the positive replies.
Ace, I'm planning on doing just what you suggested one day. I keep the speed down fortunately I don't think I'll take it on the road too often.
First time they have hooked up after each one was painted. I am toying with painting my 84 M1009 to match the trailer. Will post interior pics of the trailer when I clean it out. I mounted a stick welder & a 5KW coleman syle generator in the back.
The black on the trailer was touched up and...
Here are few pics of one seen in Times Square. Wife & I went for our honeymoon(edit: 2 year anniversary, good thing she does not read this 8) ) in 2005. The first time we saw it was when it was driving through traffic & I got one good shot. We came back the next day & it was parked in front of...
I think the black box you are referring to isinside teh cab just above the pedals it is @ 4x3x1 inches it pops open to reveal the glowplug controller card. Not sure what there is to look at unless the circuits are fried.
Goodluck
