RE: What
I mounted a SAW ammo can there to keep tools, rags & spare antenna tie downs. I have the fuel can bracket and may put it back on one day & just strap a an ammon can in. If not I am gonna put a lock on it.BTW if you do this you have to offset to the right so the lid clears the edge of...
Yes I am aware the one the has STATE TROOPER on the side is not military police. I just wanted to post the pic due to the theme and as an example of how it was sold out of the state motorpool. 8)
Just for fun here are two versions of the CUCV as a "police" vehicle. The 1009 came off of GL a while back. The 1010 as a highway patrol TAC team transport is up for sale by Mr. Parramore a few miles west of me.
make sure you pint the listing with pics to make sure you do not get the old switcheroo. Also copy the other pics from the listing and paste into a word doc so you can verify upon p/u. Do it quick the page & pics disappear after 24 hrs or less.
Nice looking truck BTW, winch, hard top, heater...
Here are some pics of one unfolded on the back of my Dad's truck. They are UV resistant and good for long term storage and will cover a M151 (windshield down).
RE: Did CUCV
If you are talking about the laminated sheet that shows factory color engine type & interior color, I have seen them in the glove box & on the LF interior fender. I only have 1009's so I can't answer the second part of your question.
My Dad one of those tow bars if anyone is interested we do not need it. Saying they are heavy is an understatement. We have a forklift to assist in getting it gone.
RE: Re: Fun day with the Blazer (rant)
Same thing happened with my 84 M1009. I got a replacement support bracket from Parramore Surplus http://www.parramore.com/ He has the bracket plus he has the gear reduction starters which are easier to start and lighter as well.
I bought a 1955 USMC M38A1 this w/e. Plus enough parts to build another. The jeep has been sitting for @ 5 years but I think we should be able to get it running. It was owned by a retired NG Sgt that was in charge of the local motor pool. He owned it for years and took good care of it. No rust...
You may be able to replace the bushings if they are the problem. (once the dents get pounded out) I have an LMC left door on my 84 M1009 & it fits OK but it still drags a little.
Armada, Not trying to hijack but what make, style, & size tires are you using on your trailer? I have regular ND tires on mine but I want toreplace them sometime soon.
Oh yeah I got my underbody harness from Saturn (I think) & there is not much slack to reach the taillight on the left side either.
