I finally got around to ordering a set of halfshafts this week. I want to replace the 6 bolts on the inside of each shaft, along with the lock washers. Are the Kascar bolts good to go? They don't look like they have the pre-applied locktite I have read about. I was also curious about the...
I honestly didn't think about the rotor being attached by those same 6 bolts, i failed to secure it, i just went outside and looked and it is still there but sure enough it is not attached to the diff output flange. I don't see any wear on the inside lip where the output flange would have been...
Yea I looked the other day and they were all 10k. We were playing in mud and trails with big puddles up to the doors, then climbing in clay pits. The outer CV boot had a tear on closer inspection afterwards, the grease inside was thin and milky. When it actually broke I was making a left turn on...
Ok so I pulled the left front half shaft, the 6 bolts on the rotor came out easy, then I pulled the broken end out the hub. I disconnected and removed the front driveshaft, had to drop the sway bar temporarily to remove it. So I'm rear-wheel drive now. The front drivetrain is all disconnected so...
Broke halfshaft in the field.
Broke the front left halfshaft at the outer cv joint. It's not flopping around so I threw it in high lock to drive on the dirt road back the pavement, at slow speed.
So so what are my options ?
Can I disconnect the front driveshaft and drive in H? Or will the...
I would clean that side of the engine with super clean and then once it dries off try and figure out where the leak is from, otherwise you are wasting your time.
Likely it's from the injectors/hoses, but the fuel lift pump is on the front right of the motor so it could be that too. The lift...
First time your fan really kicks on, you will probably pull over thinking something bad happened lol, it's loud and you feel the engine power reduce. You will know when it kicks on.
I drilled and mounted my battery shutoff at the rear of the battery box.
I unhooked the two cables going to the slave receptacle, since I don't own another HMMWV and won't be using it to jump start, and used one of them for the additional ground jumper.
I ended up getting one of these as a gift, love it, i've been reading temps on radiator hoses, tires/tread, the hubs, and diffs, transmission pan, transfer case. Trying to figure out a baseline temp for each so that maybe one day I can catch a problem early.
Replaced my harmonic balancer (vibration damper) today. Picked up a Dorman balancer from the parts store and a balancer puller kit, and a steering wheel puller.
Loosened the belts, removed the four bolts that hold the crank pulley on, crank bolt came off fairly easy (used two pulley bolts in...
The two green dash light bulb covers that I have are pretty bubbled/melted looking inside the walls and the light isn't passing through them too well, so I have very dim gauges. The bulbs themselves are bright, and when I remove the bulb covers I great nice looking white light shining into the...
Changed out all the fluids a couple days ago.
All 4 hubs gushed when I removed the fill plug, definitely contaminated and overfilled with diesel, gear oil looked thin when I removed the drain plug.
Differentials also had extra fluid when i removed the fill plug.
Transfer case was good.
I...
pretty sure mine were 1.8 new
dead ones didn't register a value
so tell us more about what happens when you first turn the switch to run, where is the voltage needle?, does the wait light come on? any clicking sound from under the dash? does the needle get slightly higher after a few seconds...
the 7200 is 7.2 amp.
the 1100 is 1.1 amp
the 15000 is 1.5 amp
basically the 7200 only comes in 7.2amp, if you select a different amp model, it has a whole different model number.
