Due to this recommendation, I went to Taunton on 1/23/24 with all of my paperwork form previous owner. And, PO never received a title from his state due to rules there. He bought it from GP in 22, registered it. I had the 97 made out to him, previous registration, bill of sale. The folks in...
Wasn't sure where to post this, so I will start here. Is there anyone that knows what this connector on the back of a tach is called or where I can get one? And than I need to scour the schematics/TM to find the pin out. Thanks for the help!
(just realized the pin out is on back of the unit)
Why are you not putting it back to stock with the mechanical pump and use the filters as they were designed and put on 300K trucks? Dont' try to reinvent the wheel. Many millions of dollars were spent on the design of these rigs and they work perfectly that way. You need to do more diagnostics...
This response right here should shut everyone else down. I appreciate the banter, but this is someone who ACTUALLY knows what he is talking about with facts and experience!! This explanation has shut my uneducated narrative down completely. It was fun thinking I was prepping for such an event...
Here are a couple from my 6hr trip to northern Maine to pick this beast up on Friday. Long trip, but the right equipment for the haul and good weather! Cant'wait for the temp to get above freezing to start wrenching and getting it ready for the spring
197679, 1097A2. So you are right on with engine identification. I am hoping someone familiar with the military nomenclature would be able to tell whether the engine was rebuilt or new replacement. Just my curiosity. There are no other stickers on the left hand valve cover where I have seen them...

Mog, it runs really well! This is the one that I decided on as opposed to that rust bucket I posted a week or so ago. Very happy with the choice and decision to go this direction, with your help. I started it yesterday in 15degree weather and it fired right up, no smoke at all even after...
Just picked my new toy up yesterday. Was hoping for a GMP (?) motor, but saw this instead. Any help deciphering it? I see a date of 11/20. Did they replace the motor? It doesn't smoke, started this morning in 15 degrees no problem. Thanks!!
I would th
I would think that is a great upgrade. From what I have seen the stock one comes on at 220F(ish). Would rather not go that high. Will order one of these. Please let us know how yours is working. This goes in the crossover pipe??
Just watched this video
In all my reading so far I have not heard of a "solution" for the overheating rear cylinders. Has any one else done this and results? And does the problem apply to the 6.5? Inquiring minds want to know....
Reviving this great tutorial. Need to do this to my rig. Anyone had any luck finding this unit? Have searched all over the web and can't find it. Thanks
I am seeing some smaller items on GP the I would like to bid on. Wondering if anyone has dealt with shipping small stuff from them. How does it work? I am talking things like small electronics, misc clothing, small tools, etc. Have never bought from them so trying to do homework. Thanks
They really want to sell it and just need to accept that it needs a ton of work. I was considering offering them a lot less and have it as a spare parts rig or parting it out, but I don't need another project. It did start right up, most of the lights did work, the transmission did move it back...
That is very encouraging and I will keep an eye on the auctions. I have switched horses and found a very clean, low mile, 2001 not far from me that I have committed to. If it wasn't for this site and input on my post from everyone, I would have made a bad investment and been upset with myself...
Mogman, great advice and I really appreciate it. Here are the facts, would appreciate your opinion and I do value it since you are the Mod here and have much more experience than I. I live on Cape Cod, as does the truck. The truck has supposedly been owned by the seller since 95. Said he just...
