wow you can run them singles in the back? I so wish there was a deuce book so i could read what works without having to go through 1352 different threads :|:|:|
Whos got more of these things reasonably priced?
Just got this trailer from GL. I'm still relatively new to the MV world, so who can tell me what kind of tires these are? My deuce has the standard (NDT?) tires on it. So these are different.
Sure, its underpowered, but its fine for most jobs. Plus, the blazer gets low 20s in MPG.
Just don't get tempted to convert it to 12V. I did....shouldn't have.
oh, and just in case you didn't know. The 09 is geared too high, and the 08 is geared too low. relatively....
I got this truck running months ago. Replaced the batteries, bled the fuel lines to the cylinders, converted to 12 V (yeah, I know- NOW) etc, etc. She ran for awhile, but I still had so much other stuff to fix that I didn't drive it all that much. But when I did, she ran fine.
Now, today...I...
I saw a deuce and a trailer full of what looked like deuce parts at exit 136 on I-75 (Perry, GA). I tried to flag them down (father/son) but they were in a hurry I guess.
Looked like they may have just picked it up, too. Still had "DRMO" in chalk on the hood.
Congrats on the pickup. I'm due...
Yeah, I think I'd have to mount a car battery in there somewhere in parallel with the 2nd alternator. Thats as much trouble as converting it back to 24V though.
Did they ever make 24V glow plugs for the 6.2? I hate that resistor circuit.

I've converted my truck to 12V. I've actually been thinking of reinstalling the 2nd alternator and only hooking it up to the nato plug, that way I can still jump my deuce if i need to.
I wonder if an alternator alone is robust enough to provide current to a jumped vehicle's starter. It...
There is that, but the expense is what usually keeps me away from that. Do you know a good source for those frames?
I'm not even sure where I would get one.

What are some of the obvious attributes of this truck? I hear talk of heaters, transfer cases, etc. What are the distinctions from other deuces?
I'm pretty sure the heater is that thing under the dash.
Am I right in thinking it has power steering? If not, whats that big box with 2 hoses on...
insurance card? Don't I need a title first?
Its been 3 years since I bought my blazer from GL, is there a sticky or something with the process?
Air transfer case? Whats that?
Oh guys, the learning curve is steep, but I climb fast.
