Thanks for the info. I did not attend the auction. I am looking for parts and weighing options. I just spoke to Gary and he sounds like he has the axle and steering parts I would need. The rear armor and doors are easy to replicate.
i am not sure why they would have sold parts off line or...
It was from Grove City. It will take a lot of work and money to do it right. I do think it was well bought, but I would also be willing to see someone else enjoy it. If someone wants a project, send me a PM. If someone has leads on parts or parts vehicles, I would be interested in that info...
It looks decent, because the armor and rims are not heavily rusted. I have a good title. It is complete under the hood, as far as I can tell, but there is a lot of rust, for instance the spark plugs rusted off. The wires are attached to the top of the plugs and the ceramic insulator is there...
I got my canvas doors covers and m38a1 door frame from Dave at weebee webbing, of odcloth.com. He and his crew did a very nice job, the only problem is they make my original top and side canvas look a bit shabby in comparison.
I just got a scout car project. Not sure what I am going to do with it. Pretty far gone to restore. Maybe real cool yard art.

They used WW1 era Vickers K guns along with M2 .50s and Lewis guns and others as well as Axis guns. The story is that the guns were very reliable and had a high rate of fire.
We have the WW2 Weekend in Reading PA in two weeks. 1500 re-enactors and 30,000 spectators. I am lending the jeep to...
I think the M170s were only made from 1953-1955. Mine is a 1955. Crazy things happen with all willys titles, but by the late 1960s Kaiser owned jeep.
i agree with the above response the starter for any F head 4 cylinder motor should bolt on. I would double check the 12 volt conversion and be...
Hard to tell what is going on, the frame does not appear to be stock civilian. The prior comments look right. The windshield looks homemade. The grill and hood are civilian. A decent looking and running CJ2a is worth a lot more than $1500. Reproduction MB grill, hood and other parts can...
I am thinking about coming up with my M1009. I ordered belts and glow plugs and need to do some maintenance on it. A trip might be the motivation I need to get the work done.
I had my M170 out this weekend and that is an option too.
Found some M38A1 door frames and new door canvas for this M170, so I can remove the panel on the passenger side and get it looking right. Odcloth.com. Came highly recommended. Thanks for the correction.
The yellow and black paint show through at the grill. Four layers of paint have protected the metal, is what I figure. The bumper cries out for a scuff and OD paint when we get some warm weather.
i have some CJ2A seat frames I can modify and mount OD cushions. I am debating using some...
The paint under the hood and inside the glove box and tool boxes is OD, but it has at least three colors on top, yellow, gloss black and gray.
I am looking for some M38A1 doors. I have seen some reproduction stuff and will go that route if I don't come across any deals. If I find some doors I...
I bought a 1955 M170. I don't have any history on it. It is original under the hood, still 24 volts. The pannel added to the passenger side was nicely done to fit M38A1 doors, but it did not come with doors. It does have the top and side canvas. I plan to fit some CJ2A seats and install...
I could not find a code cast in the block. Here are some pics of the top of the motor and valve cover. I plan to replace the rubber fuel lines. It looks to have several sizes of rubber hose. Any guidance on the sizes I need to get?
