The pic I posted was on the valve cover on the driver side. It has a square fuel filter on the passenger firewall. I'll check the top of the motor to see what is cast on the block. It makes sense that they might have swapped parts. Really I am just curious. It was from NC so that likely...
Bought a 1984 M1009. My first CUCV. It has a 6.5 rather than a 6.2. Did the govt retrofit 6.5 NA motors in some CUCVs or was this a modification during its time in civilian ownership. It was for sale cheap, so I hauled it home. I seem to be losing prime. I read some threads and replaced the...
For the record, I like wheeling, not waiting for guys who don't listen at the morning meeting as to the route, or guys who don't bring tools to fix broken stuff or expect everyone to wait for them or get out of their way. I don't like bowling or bingo or stopping every 10 minutes on green...
I am glad you had a good time. I would have had a better time if we kept moving. Maybe for me it is not an adventure anymore. I have been off roading since 1996 and mil vehicles at RC rallies since 2008. Waiting for a small group to pass our larger group on the pole line trail, sucked. It...
It happened this weekend on the pole line trail in a narrow spot and it sucked. I spent a lot of time waiting at the front, it was frustrating. I think smaller groups would move along better and would give people more choices on what to ride. It was cool getting back down to lake christy...
Good time off-roading. O trail had one good downhill to start things off. Timbering has opened things up. Lake Christy either silted in some or the water was a bit lower. We had several guys stuck in the past with 53"s. Getting in and out has gotten a bit tougher.
Sold my mog, bringing my 931 to camp and flat tow a green Wrangler. Me and my son should get to RC early evening Friday. Made some progress on a cage for my CJ, but dropped a piece of tube and snapped the fill valve off my air shock
This was a timely update. I just received a 21SI delco alternator. My terminals are a bit different than the one originally posted. I have four terminals. A small post R, a large post BAT, a small post 1 and a large post GRD. I just need to hook up the battery cable and the ground and cap...
RESPONSE - No sensible mog owner would bad mouth a Jeep. Jeeps are where it is at trailriding. Not having a cage in my mog held me back some. With my jeeps I can go at it with reckless abandon.
i will always sing the virtues of Mogs and would buy one again at the right price, but for now it...
As a follow up, I just sold my 404 unimog for $8,000. I have had it for three years and used it on and off road. I am sure I will miss it, but I use my jeeps a lot more and selling it will help fund my next purchase. I had it advertised on SS for a week or so at $8500 and did not generate any...
