Well, I have more work to do to get the numbers off the bumpers. Whatever this brushed on OD paint is is a PITA! Im not sure if it is CARC or not but what I can see of the camo underneath still looks good. I talked to the other 2 guys that got the other units from NDNG and none had antennas...
I have an 84 1009 and it has no buss bar in the rear. It is from the North Dakota National Guard so I dont know if that makes a difference? The brackets are there for the rear radio tray but the paint in the threads tell me nothing was ever screwed into them. The numbers on the back of the...
You mentioned earlier in this thread that your engine ran quieter after cleaning the return valve? Mine rattles a little more after warmed up then it used to. It runs great but is just a little noisier than it was. Did you have this issue before you went through everything? Thanks in advance for...
Removed the starter and I swear it looks like it was in a volcano. Ordered a ebay special sunday, should have it tomorrow. Completed the doghead relay conversion. Replaced 2 fusible links that fried with the starter. I got to looking over the interior and mine does not appear to have ever had...
I'm looking for the best source for the 6.5 L starter upgrade for my M1009. I seen a few on ebay and was wondering if there is a better source for a better starter that some of you have had a good experience with? Thank you.
I wonder how those headlight restoration kits work? I might be able to use a dremel and one of those kits to clean them up. I found a set of the fronts on ebay but it said listing removed. I'll call napa today and see what the scoop is on the headlight polishing kit or whatever it's called...
Thats not a bad deal if the ring and pinion is in good shape. I would open it up and look at it though. If this is out of a farm truck or something, ring and pinion could be worn. You can check the ring and pinion with contact grease. It's probably 3.73 gears. The M1008 has 4.56 and the M1009...
Does anyone know if the blackout light lenses are replacable and if so, where would I find some? Mine all work great but the lenses are sun faded. Thank you. M1009
One issue is the 1 ton has 56 inch rear springs and 3/4 ton has 52 inch. A good lift kit will come with sway bar drops and yes, if it were me I would keep the sway bar as it stabilizes the ride. I assume by steering block, you mean the steering arm on the hub end? You can do a drop pitman arm...
Can anyone tell me what size fusible links are used in TM drawing for the smaller gauge wire going from - on #2 battery to engine harness block in the CUCV manual mine is a M1009? I looked through the TM but I didnt see the rating for the fusible links. i'm sorry if I missed it somewhere. Thank you.
I am new to this forum and I just happen to live about 2 miles from EAFB. If anyone wins anything there and needs storage, help removing , an extra hand, tools or anything, let me know. I have a fairly large storage area available free to forum members should you need it. Dont matter how long it...
