Danmest thing, I swapped the plugs and it fired right up. I could understand fouled plugs preventing it from up running well, but not at all. Shenkman came over just in time to go for a ride.
Thanks for the input.
Last weekend I was up with 26 jeeps from blue mountain jeep alliance. I spoke to two guys with deuces. One had a running A2 and the other an A3 that was not running. When I left at about 5pm, the A3 was still up there. Anyone know the status to the A3?
No I did not, that is what I have you for. The wire would not reach far. I do not know why it would have been connected to the distributor as the distributor is bolted to the block, it is already well grounded. Maybe there is something off in the advance. Maybe the spark is not strong enough...
I did not measure the output of the spark, just the presence of a spark. It felt like about 40,000 volts through the pliers.
The pickup and magnet seem to be mounted properly. I assume that Canister coils are pretty standard. I have a spare coil from a 6 cylinder jeep and plug wires that I...
It is not even sputtering or trying to start. It turns over fine. It is still The 24 volt setup. It has a solid state Pertronix ignitition, no points. I got the mog over the summer and it had the full civilian ignition set up when I got it. I did not mess with it. It ran fine for months...
Yes Tom it has gas in it. I do like that movie. It has good compression and pulls a good vacuum at the carb. The distributor hold down is tight, so it does not seem like the distributor moved. Motor work will be a bitch as the cab sits on the motor and everything is pretty tight to work on...
I am having trouble with my 404. It has the civilian ignition. It had been running fine. Now I am getting good spark, but the motor does not try to start, either by pumping the accelerator or ether. The motor is turning over good. I checked the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, all seem to be in...
We have overlapped big events before, I do not expect it to be a problem. The race is held on a different part of the property, but I do expect a big turnout. A lot of folks camping and staging in the parking lot. Regarding a camper, the do have designated space for a camper.
I will be there. It will be a f---ing mad house that weekend. They are having the RCQ King of the Hammers qualifier race that weekend. I plan to watch some of the race on Saturday, so I am not sure how much trail time I will get on Saturday.
Looking forward to it, it is always a good time.
Had a good time as usual. Nice ride, no one got badly stuck, no one broke down.
Nice to see some new faces. It's Deep horesshoe was deep and rejected both trucks that tried it. Tom was right there with a strap to get them out. There have to be several videos do the attempts.
Here are some...
Mike, I get where you are coming from, the first issue is spot on, some guys in my jeep clubs are more interested in talking about rides, than actually riding. On the second point, we need to give Joe credit. When the brothers disappeared, Joe stepped up and organized the rallys. The story of...
I run at RC a lot. We have hit most of the trails with deuces. I like running jeeps and my buggy more. There are some tough trails that deuces and stock trucks just can't run.
We have had a lot of guys come up for the rally over the years, I am always a little surprised at how the size of...
Not a lot of action on this thread. I spoke to my Dad The Road, he is planning on bringing his deuce Friday to camp into Sunday, most likely.
This has always been a fun event. The trails change a bit from season to season. Some of the green trails have gotten more difficult due to washouts.
I added another military truck to the collection. It needs some love. Other than the civilian ignition, it is stock. The inside of the windshield frame and a few spots where the paint chipped off, have bright white paint. There is yellow over that and green on top. I plan to wheel it and...
There are a lot of guys who travel at least 2.5 hrs to get to RC. We camp out and ride the trails. The drive over should be cake in a CUCV and they work good on the trails.
