I have been using Power Service In all my vehicles , from the wife's diesel Volkswagen to my M923A2. I mostly follow the bottles recommendations on when and how much. The down side is the stuff stinks and is hard to wash the smell off if you get it on your skin. Another thing I keep in my...
The weather has been so unseasonably warm lately I decided to get outside and do a cheap modification to my M923A2 for better low light visibility. I have always worried about being rear ended because some half asleep driver didn't see my truck at night. I broke out a roll of DOT reflective...
I think I understand what you are doing. The main drawback to the front fender exhaust like a deuce-and-a half is the noise. I have seen people run the exhaust down the outside of the passenger side frame rail and dump out the back. You can build an under hood air filter setup and as long as...
If you have a hard time getting answers from the DMV contact the the Highway Patrol commercial vehicle enforcement division.
Talk to a CVS Inspector or Trooper not just a regular Patrolman.
Lucky for me the state weigh station is less than a mile away and they leave the scale on when no one is there. When I haul my firewood I weigh every load so I know how much I have and How much I still need to get.
I forgot to mention a few other things. I weigh about 170 pounds, and I was in the truck when I weighed it. I gutted the muffler , And added a couple pounds of stereo and speakers. I also went from the normal batteries to a couple of group 31's. The spring seat was replaced with an air ride...
My M923A2 is 9700 pounds on the front axle and 12,220 pounds on the rear axles. No cargo cover and no seats, only wood racks. I do have a bed crane that weighs a couple hundred pounds and a medium tow bar. The tool boxes are also full of tools and spare parts.
Greetings
We have been a little cold lately ,mostly single digits with some below zero nights. It has warmed up some and dropped a little snow, most people hate it but I love it when it is in the 20's and snow is falling. I have driven many military vehicles over the years but never a M-916...
I made a U bolt that went around the stereo and bolted to the bottom flange of the dash. The stereo I bought doesn't have a CD player so it is short and really light. I put a piece of rubber around the stereo between the u bolt as sort of a cushion. You could also buy a mounting bracket like...
The stereo uses normal speakers, I don't remember the brand but I paid about $50 for a set on Ebay. They work good in my five ton but it is a bit quieter than the Deuce.
Another option is a 24 volt stereo, I put one in my five ton and it works great. I have a bunch of music stored on an SD card and usually just listen to that. It only cost me about $50 and seems to be holding up good.
