Wow. Good thread guys. I am now subscribed.
I like using my David Clark headsets in the airplane. Would proly be good in this realm as well. But I am curious about the PFR headsets as then you can talk to everyone in the convoy or with ground guides. HMMMM. More research.[thumbzup]
Nice truck.......And I vote for the V-Plow method of Zombie dispatching......It is just comic relief to have Zombies flipping off to both sides with a clear path for your buddies to follow behind you. And the occasional midsections severing from the center plate of the V-Plow.
As far as I know the 1C (whistler) and 1D are supposed to be rated the same. We all know book HP and torque numbers can vary from real world numbers. So I would think your engine tag would give you the best information on the HP. The 1D was unfortunately not in this manual. So if someone has a...
We all ask, we all want to know and here is what the book says.
LDS-465-2: 195 HP @ 2800 RPM 425 LbFt @ 2000 RPM
LDS-465-1A: 175 HP @ 2600 RPM 425 LbFt @ 2000 RPM
LD(S)-465-1: 126 HP @ 2600 RPM 300 LbFt @ 1400 RPM
(S) ^ is a typo in the...
I saw a truck that had Dana 60 front, 14 bolt rear and Big Block Chevrolet engine in Reno. I bought a PTO from the guy......If I remember right he had the chevy power steering too....... This was about 11-12 years ago. He had it painted Navy grey. The truck looked really good. It was factory...
Oh! I see.
So to post an absolute that is incorrect may be a disservice to people on the forum who may take the statement as truth.
I disagree with your statement that GM used Dana 44 front axles under 1 ton trucks. I also disagree that GM used Dana 60 front axles in 3/4 ton trucks...
UGGGHHHHH!
Let's not get into a debate over the FACTORY OPTIONS available for GM trucks from 1973-1992. For the purposes of this coversation the FACTORY OPTIONS for GM trucks is an acedemic discussion that will lead this thread completely off topic.
I used the word only in my post...
Bolt on top of the primary fuel filter that holds the canister to the filter housing........While you are 14 miles back at hunting camp........So you don't leak all of your fuel out on the way home.......And fuel is dripping down your arm into your armpit.........
I have to say before you buy the 3/4 ton Suburban axles or any 3/4 ton Chevy axles make sure you are getting a Dana 60 front and not a Dana 44 front axle.
You said you will have a Dana 60 axle. The Dana 60 front Chevy axle only came factory under a 1 ton truck or the 5/4 ton military CUCV...
We have an e-mail in to the Chief of Ellicot FD but no response yet. We are definitely going to track that down. Also there were reports of some van bodied trucks coming from a salvage yard somewhere around there. Supposedly the bodies were scrapped. But you never know.
We are definitely...
Hey GR, I'm a cheap AXX like you so that's why I have not done it with a poly tank either.;-) I was hoping you would do it and tell us the most inexpensive way to :grd:
I'm proly going to weld up my own tank for under the cargo bed and then just use it as a transfer tank to the main tank. I...
I like GR's idea of a tank between the rails under the Bed. There are a bunch of plastic tank manufacturers that make tanks for boats in an unbelieveable amount of sizes and shapes. Just get on Google, type in plastic fuel tanks and let the fingers do the walking.
This thread is going downhill AGAIN. I'm unsubscribing. I was hoping the "I'm right" contest was going to stop after a moderator cleaned this up but I guess not.
I'm out.
Yep.....Caveat emptor.......Let the buyer beware. I have found that dealing with GL is not much different than dealing with used cars, like Clinto said or any other auction house. You really gotta take responsibility for previewing or just take it as it comes. I've had stuff removed from trucks...
