It latches shut, but I wouldn't say it "locks" exactly.
I will get to thinking about that after awhile. First big project on this is going to be building a nice center console so I have put my wallet/phone, etc when I'm in the car.
I just installed the TMG plate frame:
It comes with both screws for mounting to the truck (they're self-tapping metal screws) and screws to mount the plate to the frame. The wiring is a single hot-wire with a packard connector Y that plugs into the tail-light connector and it includes a...
Here are a few pictures I took for the insurance company:
The top is nice. I'm "iffy" on the doors because a) the windows are small and b) the latching hardware is kinda cheap. The rear "curtain" is nice and the window seems to seal well.
My call to them before I bought this truck was very different and I received a bit more insight into their process. I also understand that because they are sourcing trucks from the same places that GP is auctioning from, they are subject to the same potential risk of buying a truck that starts...
First things first: Welcome!
"Best" is a very subjective term given the multitude of variables that would define it. As a new HMMWV owner myself, I would say you should grab the TMs and the Operators Manual and go through the beginning pages that give a really good break down of the...
After posting some info on the HMMWV Owners facebook group regarding the few small problems I had (bad batteries, no wipers, bad washer pump) I was proactively contacted by one of Plan B's mechanics. He took my info and passed it to the owners. One of the owners (Tom) called me today to...
The gauge or the sender is bad. It reads 30+ PSI without the engine running and 60-80 PSI at idle even warm. I plan to replace it with a direct pressure gauge.
It didn't come with them. Here in VA, as I understand it, if they were installed by the manufacturer, they must work, otherwise they're not required. The plate light is mandatory on all vehicles.
I'll take some in the morning. Both were easy peasy installs with basic tools. Here's a night shot of the plate. Plenty bright enough with those 3 LED's.
I rechecked and the numbers are definitely not present where yours are. But that link you posted is a perfect reference. My mounting bolt for the tach drive is on the right side and the turbo mount castings are present, so it looks like I do indeed have a 6.5.
Finished installing my TMG plate frame. Great product. I also installed their keyed battery disconnect switch I put installed it at the front of the battery box, but I suspect I'll have to move it because once I put the 6TL batteries in it I think the front battery will hit the back side of...
A quick update:
1. I got the insurance squared away on it yesterday. State Farm took good care of me. $90/6 months, no mileage or garage restrictions.
2. GP Overnighted the UT title to me and I got it about 8:45 this morning. I hopped in the car with it and the GP invoice and went straight...
I have NO relationship with Plan B at all. To be honest, I didn't even know who they were when I bid on the truck. It wasn't until someone else said "that's a Plan B rig" that I knew they existed. So, I have no ulterior motives here, I'm merely sharing info as I get it.
I also have no...
Ok, I have looked on the right (passenger) front end of engine head. No such markings on mine at all if I'm looking in the right place. I took a pic of the same area as the pic you posted for clarification. Do I have this wrong?
