Cheapest source for axle nut socket

I love to swap things around. I think that is always the best way for me. I'll take stuff you are sure you don't need in exchange for something you want, because sooner or later, you run across someone who needs that item. I am slowly accumulating a small supply of deuce items, sooner or later...

Is my starter bad? should i buy a used one? very confused in

Have you taken the starter to a shop? They can check the armature with a growler, and they will check your field windings. Is the drive end bushing really loose? That will allow the armature to drag on a field coil shoe. What do the brushes look like? Make sure the starter is bad first, then...

Trip to a military salvage yard

All I had to make a trip to Evansville Indiana on business. To liven up a boring trip, Desert Rat and I met up and went to a military wrecking yard (Howard Hammonds). Lots of good stuff, scattered over 300 acres. I was very disappointed about 1 thing. Brent had told me how many ticks I would...

A few more add-ons for a super sweet ride.

Pipe dope is handy on vertical surfaces, doesn't drip off. Oil is best for horizontals. I have run a holesaw through 3/4" plate with a mag drill. I made a dam around the area I was cutting the hole with some silicone caulk. Drilled the pilot hole almost all the way through the plate, then...

A few more add-ons for a super sweet ride.

Dudes Call your friendly neighborhood commercial electrician. He should have a set of Greenlee punches that go up to 4". Makes nice round holes in sheetmetal a whole lot easier than with a holesaw. The only problem is that the punches only come in certain sizes. You might end up with a holesaw...

Where can you get U.S.A. White star or template for the Deuce

Regular kitchen contact paper makes a good stencil. Apply to truck, lay out star. Carefully cut contact paper with an Exacto knife, peel out star. Paint. Easy!!

Shooting CARC is not dangerous if you take the right precautions. A $10 paint suit and a $40 respirator and you can shoot standard CARC. Anyone wants to do so, let me know and I'll give you the McMaster Carr part numbers for the safety equipment.

    Cargo covers on E-Bay

I don't know. I think the 5 ton is 14' long, the deuce is 12'. E-mail the seller and see how long they are, I think there are at least 2 listed. The price looked really good. I would imagine they won't last long.

    Deuce home! Good/bad news...

All Thanks for the plug on the CD. I am adding every manual I can find that is pertinent to the deuce. I really need a gas engine manual, that would really be a nice addition. Anyone need one they can send me their snail mail and one will be on the way. I am adding a 1000# capacity hand...
