I bought the split lock tool, 2 spoons, and 2 bead breakers several years ago. Handy things to have around. I use Dawn dishwasher detergent and water as a lube on an old, stuck tire. When dismounted, take a good wire wheel on a 7" side grinder and de-rust everything. Shoot a coat of red oxide...
I think Cranetruck knows of an air locker kit that was on some Deuces that went to Norway? I believe all 3 axles were set up with them, and a ROPS was installed behind the cab.
Most military rims have a deeper lock ring than civvy wheels. We used to scrounge deuce wheels for our old Ford dumptrucks. The wheels were stronger than the civvies, and a little wider. I use a duckbill sledge to break down mine.

Looks like an LD 465 truck? With the stock muffler and exhaust?
Let us have the details on how you built up the wheels. I have been considering doing the same myself.

My Kaiser data tag was just about illegible. There is a guy who can make up new data tags for you, with the correct numbers. He is listed here somewhere, I am slowly losing my mind and can't find his phone number. i am going to order a set of replacement tdata plates for mine, he has all of...
Sounds like you have a really good bunch of GSA guys out there. I have heard good things about them from people in Ga. who buy from them.
Be smart and look under the "Deuce Tips" thread. Gather up your toys and tools before you head out. I made a towbar for my little Nissan Beercan truck and...
Not a bad looking pair of deuces. A little work and you will have a couple of nice trucks. Anyone know why the one truck has the round hole in the front bumper?
Berg was great to deal with. He has a huge assortment of tires, and will work with you. Several others have posted the sizes and prices, so I won't do it all again. I bought 7 900x20's for $20 each, and picked them out myself. 4 are brand new, had to be spares on something. He probably had 3-400...
I tried to find the muffler on the NAPA online site, it didn't recognize the number. I am going to run by the parts store tomorrow and see if they can order it for me. If my turbo noise is still too much, I'll swap on my D turbo and pull off the C. The turbo scream sets my teeth on edge. I know...
USA 6x6 is getting tires from Berg Supply and marking them way up. Berg has 1100x20 NDCC tires for around $30 each. 12 tires for $360 plus shipping. You can run 1100x20 NDCC's as duals on a Deuce, I believe McInfantry is doing so. Call Berg Supply, he has the 12.50 radials as well.
Take the starter to an auto electric shop. They can check it out for a reasonable amount. It might be worth the effort to turn the engine over by hand. Just make sure the fuel shutoff cable is pulled all the way! It would really suck for the motor to start with you holding a wrench on the crank...

That was kinda what I thought. I never like to run things to the red line either. In my younger days, the red line was a starting point......
But I am older now, and have bought some expensive lessons.
