The tm states not to remove the delivery valve screw on the side if the hydraulic head. I did that. Does something need to be reset now? Maybe this is my issue?
Certainly interesting from a historical perspective. Do you have paper work to trace its lineage? That would make the value of your rig much higher. It would be good to have if you ever sell it.
It will not start without ether. I tried it dry today and it wont even try to fire up. I disassembled the entire injection pump trying to diagnosr the problem. I must have assembled it incorrectly somewhere or the hydraulic head is bad. I do get fuel to the injectors, but it seems there may not...
The truck has been running well for the last year I have had it. I was actually three hours from home when it died. The piston was seized up in the hydraulic head and the button and retainer had come loose. I cleaned up the piston and bore so every thing moves nicely and there is no scoring or...
How would it be 180` out if all three timing marks are lined up? I can understand the engine being 180 out. I have to rotate the pump two full revolutions to get all three marks to line back up. Am I missing something?
Ive got this thing so it will fire up, but it wont continue to run. It seems like the governor is turning it off. I have the engine at tdc, the pointer lined up on the injection pump shaft, and the hh is off one tooth to the rear. This is what the manual says. I get oil from the injector lines...
So.... I installed the pump, lined up the timing marks and cranked it. Fuel is coming out of the high pressure injector lines when I cracked them open. But, it wont start. Do I nurse it with ether to get it running?
Congrats on your purchase. I'm very interested to see how you set up your camper. I'm curious to see something that fits in the back of these trucks properly.
