I would say they are a direct, since the nozzles inject directly in the combustion chamber, and to my understanding the cavity in the piston is part of it.
Compared to modern commonrail-diesels they have a very low-pressure injection. The pressure in the railsystem is about 10 times as high...
With the upcoming winter in mind you could build a small scale version of those russian snow-blowers !
Imagine the looks on the neighbors faces when you blast the sidewalk with that thing!

The old Swiss Saurer 2Dm (and later) trucks had such a system you are describing. The cable runs along the left framerail either forwards or backwards.
On the picture you can see the front exit of the cable - the winch is rated at 6to, IIRC.

Interesting pictures, thanks for sharing.
I'm sure a ride in a B-17 is a thrilling experience; just out of curiosity, what does this cost?

I had wasps built a nest in one of the cylinders exhaust tubes (the small 180° bent tubes). This had a similar effect, and you can't visually see if the tubes are clogged because they open towards the window.
I took the cylinders apart, cleaned them, lubed them with air tool oil, then it was...
Great Scott, jesusgatos, when I saw your Avatar I thought frodobaggins dug a new one out of his horror cabinet!
Frodo, thanks for putting this in a pdf, I too have one of these job coming up.

But then again, it is amazing how similar the design is, isn't it.

I found some cool images of this immense aircraft, and thought I'd share them.
Right-click in the image / open in new window opens the picture in full resolution.
Here we go!
I think the deuces handbrake, new version, is also a PITA.
Bjorn, changing the No1 sparkplug on a VW bug is also a challenge, or unmounting the Solex carburator from the intake manifold! I crafted special tools for that.
But there is worse: I once saw a Porsche Boxster with its engine pulled...
I've been through the same thing, but it's been a while ago, so my memory is a little faded. If you have teh same model like me: I think you have to insert the rubber cap into the round plastic insert (make sure it snaps in all right), align the insert with the three (?) plastic noses on the...
I wish I had a three prong female. And I even wouldn't insist on it being green or black, or not being a japanese imitation.

(don't drink and post)
I thougth it's the normal procedure to drain the primary with the in-tank pump running?
I wouldn't try it otherwise to avoid exactly the described consequences, and fearing that the drain back takes the accumulated dirt and water back into the fuel tank.
I think this is because either there...
