    Brake fluid mystery???

I've had the same issue with my deuce. Leaked into the airpack. It eventually blew the fluid out of the air-pressure vent near the airfilter when releasing the brake, that's how I first noticed it... I rebuilt the airpack, now it's fine. Cheers, Mark

    Whistlin' Dixie is Home....Recovery Report

Thanks fpr sharing that, nice pictures! Reminds of last year, when I went to a field trip to France with the deuce and our oldest (then 16). I assigned him the task of starting the truck, under my supervision of course. He even drove it on private property. Imagine, it was his very first...

Got a few problems. Please help.

I have a very early manufactured deuce ( #94). The VIN is stamped at the same location as stated on the frame rail, but on the co-drivers side. You might want to check that, if you don't find it on the drivers side. Cheers, Mark

    Mineral oil as fuel

I use roughly 50% Diesel and 50% transformer oil or used motor oil (both filtered) in my deuce at the moment. I have had mixtures up to about 80% oil, but then it smokes pretty strong, expecially when cold. I don't want the firefighters pull up when I start the truck. In my opinion the truck...

    Deuce and Starfighter

Thanks, guys. Roscoe, it is said that vehicles of the 8th transport group, operating in Vietnam, were marked that way so company commanders could identify their vehicles from above when riding in choppers. I've seen pictures off all sorts of 8th gp vehicles with yellow noses, M37, Jeeps, 5tons...

    Deuce and Starfighter

MDFO, these are swiss military antennas, which consist of stock US parts except for the tip (as far as I can judge that). The set has two tips, one with a tie-down ring at the end and one completly rubberized for the short setup without the tie-down. Look at...

Looks very professional! It fits so well that you almost don't see it with the bar mounted. Good idea! Mark

    I need nipples

Thanks for all the information. And thanks for the offer, dc3coy, but I have a favorite pair of those here at my disposal. :-D I can order 1/8, 1/4 or 5/16" here, but these things are quite expensive and I don't want to buy nipples that are of no use (useless nipples suck). The deuce is...

    I need nipples

I need to replace a few grease nipples / zerks / fittings and want to make sure to order the right size, since these things are a little hard to come by in non-metric sizes here in Germany. I would need the correct thread-size for the little buggers. Second thing, I noticed quite a few 45° or...

    Air Pack End Plate Seal

I did an airpack job a few weeks ago and used a liquid seal (Hylomar) instead of the old and torn paper gasket. Works flawless. Cheers, Mark

Cleaning Up the Air Pack & Rebuild

Did the same thing on mine, the piston was stuck in the top position and it was blowing brake fluid out of the breather tube. The cleanup worked well, it's OK now!
