I believe that all the dash indicator lights should come on momentarily when starting up in order to verify the lights are all working. The dual alternators provide 24 volts to the starting system. It also makes it possible for all tactical vehicles to be able to jump start each other out in the...
I had a great time as well, despite the fuel filter hiccup on Saturday morning and the 7 hour ride home. My rear driveshaft broke on the way home about 10 miles from Rausch Creek (190 miles from my destination). I removed the rear driveshaft and drove home in 4 wheel drive. We will see if any...
I don't have a canopy, but I finally got the word I will be off from work. I'll be there Friday evening and staying until Saturday. I'll be in my M1009 towing an M101A2 and will be convoying with Irishvin. We are coming from NY across I-84. See you there.
The seatback portion of the Smittybilt cover does not slide or move around at all. The seat portion slides a little when getting in or out of the truck, but no biggie as the seatback does not let it get too far. I have Jatonka CUCV seat covers on both front seats and that is what you noticed...
I have a front seat cover for my M1009 that is a Smittybilt Gearz cover. It is advertised for Jeeps, but I took a chance and it fit fine. There is a lot of adjustment on it and I believe it would fit almost any stock high back bucket seat. Plenty of storage on it.
My Yamaha Grizzly 660 is wider than the stated width between the wheelwells of my M101A2, but the extra width is at the fenders, so the ATV fits just fine in the trailer.
Ok, that bearing. Ha ha. That bearing also has a lip to stop it's further travel inside the spindle. It can be carefully installed with a slightly larger socket and hammer. The worst part is getting it started. Use a lot of grease to get it in. Once it's in it's fairly easy to seat in place. I...
The bearings are not pressed on. The whole operation of changing the spindle and bearings is able to be done with simple hand tools. There is a special spindle nut socket necessary, but it is a chevy truck and that socket can be found at the auto parts store with little trouble. The bearings...
I believe the laws of gravity and physics come into play by lowering air pressure on tires that are diagonal from the tire you wish to lift. It should require much less effort by the jack to raise the flat tire if the diagonal tire(s) are not resisting by being fully inflated and then by...
That mileage sounds amazing to me, considering the loads you were hauling. I can't seem to get better than 15.5 mpg in my M1009 not towing anything. I use the 200 mile one way trip from NY to Rausch Creek in PA for the semi-annual rallies to get the figure. I have the same size BFG tires (mud...
