Everything works like a charm on it. Few scratches on the bed from the forklift moving it around, but no damage. Manual brakes work like a charm. The chassis appears to have a few years on it but the bed, tongue wheel, rails and bows appear to be very new. One of the tires is brand new, the...
Sure, trailer recoveries are pretty boring but hey, why not post it them all...
Made the 4-1/2 trip up to Fort Polk yesterday to pick up my trailer. Walked into the visitor center to get my pass. The MP saw the trailer I was pulling and asked what I was picking up. I told him a M105 trailer...
Exactly my near future plan.. Love my A2 but I also want and plan to buy an A3 for the quiet comfort features mentioned..
Both have their +'s and ='s... But both are sweet rigs..
Pretty sure my trip will be uneventful as I'm loading out on a car hauler. Me and the wife will make a day of it.
I still plan on documenting the recovery though..
I don't know what you guys think, but those are some of the nicest 105s I've ever seen on GL.. Glad I was on the ball for that auction to grab one cheap..
Does GL provide a forklift at Ft. Polk to assist with loading. I plan on trailering a M105 this week and need to know if this is something they will load for me if needed or do I need to bring some extra muscle??
I see them used at work a lot for drilling out galvanized structural supports. They are typically pretty heavy due to the electro magnet. You should be able to find an equipment rental place that should have one.
I have a Millermatic 210 (before auto set) and this machine does great until I try to weld auto sheet metal. I have a lot of trouble with thin metal. But for 1/8" up to 3/8 it is great.
2 hours is a cake walk for a running deuce if you keep her under 50mph.. Bring the camera, air hose, hefty jack, tool to remove lug nuts, belts, radiator hoses and some filters just in case.
Good luck!!
Same here as with Goldeneagle.. Got mine at Ft. Polk a few weeks back just above minimum. They had about 8 in just as nice shape with no bids on them. I know this because the ones that didn't sell were back in this week's auction.
Oh.. And my first time EUC cleared in 11 days. Recover next...
Thus just one of the reasons why the gooberment canceled this truck after a short production period.. 10 years from now I doubt you will see many A3's out there still running CTIS as designed.. Parts to keep it up to spec will be too expensive and in high demand.. But that is just my humble...
Very nice truck man... I am a fan of the woodland camo, but your paint job came out exceptionally well. I need to go with the hard top as well. Wish I can find one for cheap..
Man... Drive down to Ken's ATV's in Louisiana and buy a road worthy Deuce for under $4 grand that has all of the paperwork ready to go to the DMV.. He has some A2's and an A3 now I believe (although he wants like 7K for th A3)..
****, he is a ATV and motorcycle dealer, so he will probably...
I called a buddy of mine who owns an auto repair shop and he called all of his battery distributors looking for comparable replacements when my batteries when dead last month. He found a guy with the identical square military batteries, so I just ordered a pair of them because I didn't want to...
