    Still Learning

I can not figure out how he got that knot 75' down the cable. The winch is toast. Even though I had a dozen shear pins in the cab he put a bolt in. The case is cracked and there are chunks of gear teeth dropping out of the bottom. I yanked it off the truck, a buddy of mine wanted it for parts...

I Like the guy and the fact that he is a war veteran, I figured he had done this hundreds of times before so what harm could there be. I am glad that he did not hurt himself.

    Still Learning

A Viet Nam veteran moved next to me a couple of months ago and he loves my 5T, even if it is Blue and red in color. He operated an M62 in the RVN. He is a nice guy even though he always has a can of MGD bolted to his left hand. I've let him take the truck for a drive a few times and he gets...

    Big Greasy Brake Question

There are 2 seals. The inner and outer. The inner seal will stay mounted on the spindle when the drum assembly is removed. The outer seal sits between the spindle nuts and the outer wheel bearing. Both seals are one piece rubber and metal. The outer seal will come out easily, the inner will...

    Wanna go to Hawaii?

The cages are a kit made during the late 60s through the early 70s for riot control. A buddy of mine has one that he bought from GSA about 25 years ago. It is new and still in the crate. If I remember it was stenciled Kit,, Riot Control... The National Guard would toss the unruely demonstrators...

    Chrysler Leasing and M37s

I am sure that Chrysler was selling the trucks directly to the public. IHC used to sell the M5H6 to the public back in the forties, REO/ Studebaker sold M-35s new to the public, marketed as the "Eager Beaver", that was back in the late 50s to early 60s.I have seen one at a surplus dealer, it was...

Any Sheet Metal Bangers in the house?

Recovry 4X4, that will be a pretty straight forward repair. If the mount is strong enough to support the fender while working leave it on. Start pulling the deformed section that is level with the kick up of the deck/support (photo0001) up while hammering in on the elbow that has formed on the...
