Mine was army, but I understand the whole "adding charater" thing that said, in my case as this will be my daily driver that I also use for business I can handle the "new tough military truck" look, but the "old dented faded yee haa millitary truck" look wont work out too well with how I am...
I'll try the suction cup & remove the paint on the roof.
Why would I use JB Weld???
I have been using a mig welder to pull half of the dent out already?
What I am doing is taking the 1/4 inch rod that I have the make shift slide hammer (see pic) riding on, I spot weld the 1/4 inch rod to the dent give it a few pulls and bada bing
I think that using this home made thing (made out of scrap) probably will work better the the store bought unit...
I think I am going to go with the spot weld & slide hammer, I am not going to drop like 100 bucks for something some guy in china made for 10 cents so.....
Got a dent in my roof, looks like some yahoo sat on it, how the heck do I get it out with the metal headliner????
Thanks,
-SuperchargedRS
**I am about to lay the paint and I dont want to paint over...
Why are you running wires into the door?
Your really don’t want to have those stupid door speakers, the fire into you and not UP TO YOU! Get something like the q-form kick panel mounts, they are made for the geometry of our trucks, that's what I have and they rock!
Link to kick panel pods...
Here are the rear 6x9 mounting pods, all ready to be welded, after that I will heat and massage any imperfections out of them, sandblast, weld in truck, then the truck is off to get line-Xed (as I will also line X these).
One thing not in the pics is the speaker grille, I found a square black...
Did the M1009s have the bumpers and grille camo, or did they have them solid green, as my truck and most I have seen that havent been messed with seems to have solid bumpers and grilles?
pic 2of2 of mock up. I hope to have the fab work done tonight on this aspect of my sound system.
*I will also be fabbing a mount under the drivers seat for the amp, and mounting tabs for the crossovers for my 6.5 components.
-----------UPDATE-----------
Here is the mock up for the rear 6x9 speakers,
they will be about 48" from the driver (pass speaker to driver), which means that all the speakers will have a range to driver to pass of +-1", so the sound imaging should be good.
for the whole poly vs. rubber thing here is a good article

Does anyone know the answers to my 3 questions??
** All I have to do to strip the springs is to remove the clamp in the middle...right???????

I will look into that paint sounds good.
--few questions--
** All I have to do to strip the springs is to remove the clamp in the middle...right???????

side note: Why would you want to put...
