    Unknown Connector.

They go into aluminum framing behind the wall. You can't see the back side as its inside the wall. There is a pin in the center of the rivet and it is not a "pop" type. This connector in on a 60's vintage AN/GRC-46 communications shelter. It's the power input.

    Unknown Connector.

Two Questions; Anyone ever see this connector? It is NOT a mate for the common vehicle receptacle like we have on our trucks. It has no MS numbers. It is riveted on with "drive pin" blind rivets. Can these be drilled out or must you grind off the head? If I can't find a mate, I'll replace it...

old radios used in jeeps, which ones from 50's to 60's maybe?

The AN/GRC-19 The AN/GRC-19 was indeed installed in M-38's and M-38A1's as well as the M-151. I know, I operated them. I still remember keying the mike and the jeep would really slow down because of the 100 amp alternator load. The belts would sometimes screech also. The set was mounted...

    RATT Rig

Near impossible. I think acetone is about the best solvent I have tried. I have all "B" model UGC-74's and they don't have that problem. However, ribbons are the problem with the "B" & "C". If you find a "B" with a cartridge, you can replace the ribbon in it. I missed ribbons from a guy in...

    AN/GRC-46C Restoration

If you were on the east coast, I'd point you to some '46 shelters. I know of several but I don't know what is in them if anything.

    AN/GRC-46C Restoration

The R-392 was on the floor. It was loose in the rack so I put it on the floor to transport it so it's there. I operated the '46 in the late 60's. Yes, I have been thinking about an M-37 but would not want to restore another truck. I'd look for one already done this time!!

    AN/GRC-46C Restoration

I Brought home this AN/GRC-46C last week. There is nothing working as far as I know. I began removing all the interior items this week to see what is needed. The S-144 shelter will be repaired as necessary and the interior and exterior will be painted. The electronics will be repaired and the...

    RATT Rig

Here is my AN/GRC-142(A/C). It was an "A" model but upgraded TTY makes it sort of a hybrid. Common military conversion when the UGC-74 became available so I swapped out the TT-98. 100% complete and operating. I use it on AC power, the 28 volt generator trailer or the vehicle power. I had to...

    M715 bogs going up hills?

Not much power Mine is loaded with a 1 ton comm shelter and is really sluggish. Even before, a hill will require a downshift. In the winter, with all that gear lube being stiff, it takes ALOT of power to just get going!! Mine has the 2 barrel carb and civy ignition which helps but not enough...

    M715, M725, M726 Body parts

Same here Good fit and heavy guage. Get both inners and outers for a strong cab. The inners and outers form a "box" to support the rear of the cab.

    Looking for RT-524

Most of the frequencies the 524 operates on are commercial and public safety, with the exception of the amateur 6 meter segment, 50-54Mhz. Even if you somehow got a low band commercial assignment, unlikely, the 524 is not narrow FM so not allowed. Most of us that use these have a ham ticket...

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

The 26 series fit on the GM 6x6, a bit smaller then the M-35 deuce. I think it was the M-135 but others might chime in. It was an auto transmission truck that we had. We had those "D" models in the mid 60's but they go back from there in models. The "D" was the last model. It had the R-390...

    m715 fuel tank

Seldom Seen The tanks are seldom seen for sale. Many have had them constructed. Attached is a picture from the manual.

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

Yes, they are used. There was one of each in my shelter when I got it. I have not put mine up but have seen them at shows.

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

When I was in, we still had the GRC-26 and the GRC-46. Later the 142 and 122 but then I was leaving. Now, I'm reliving my youth! My wife tells soldiers we see that they can have me back, complete with my own equipment!

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

The S-250 was made for the "newer" trucks in the late 60's and early 70's. It is slightly larger then the S-318. Both were used on the M-715 and both were AN/GRC-142 and 122 models.

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

Mine also had the TT-98's but trying to run 100 wpm is a challenge. Put in the UGC-74's as they mount and plug right in. That's why I cal. mine an "A-D" model because it is some of both. Not unusual thoiugh as they swapped some out early on in the Army. Thats why you see the interface cables...

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

Both mine are on the air. Is this every day? USB since many only have USB? I also have a military Harris set-up so can go LSB if required. What region is the net control? K3TZJ

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

I was hoping to get the generator trailer painted this year but ran out of time. I have a real nice M-101A1 with the generator. Just need to do it.

    AN/GRC-142 Finally Loaded

Yes Yes, we have used it on 20, 40 and 75 meters. There is a group on 40 meter USB using only mil-spec equipment. Even worked Europe with just the 15 foot whip on 20. There is a RATT net on 10.137 also. AM mil radio net every Saturday at 5AM Eastern on 3885 also. I also have a 106 in the...
