    Firecontrol, The kickdown soleniod inside the tranny pan was stuck on mine. I just replaced it, now it shifts great. It sounds like yours is sticking some. Disconnect that single wire on the drivers side of the tranny, and give it a test drive. Joe.

    Yes, Rick. I've adjusted that Vacuum Valve on the side of the injection pump all the way forward, and all the way back. No change either way. I think towards the firewall is lower shift points, and towards the radiator is higher shift points. Joe.

    Thanks, I have backed the screw out one turn on the vac mod. I will try backing it out some more, or is there a way to bench test these things? Seems like I could use a hand vac pump on it. Would I here a click, or something to know it is working? Joe.

    Shifting issue

    When you floor it, you are sort-of in the kick down circuit. It should shift at most 35-40 if you are on the street. If you are at a dead stop, and it has a big load on it, (like you are stuck in the mud) you don't want it to shift into 2nd! Describe your symptoms more please.

    Jeff, It has a new red stripe vacuum modulator. I also just removed the governer from the trans for inspection, it looks great, and moves freely. I'm lost.
