    thanks Wreckerman......sounds like shifting one of my cars - back when I was a young lad and the automatic had a bad modulator just for information sake - I wonder....is there any kind of a safety interlock to prevent downshifting too much and twisting the drive shaft off?

    why does the tire need to be standing up - at an angle yet?.....looks like you could bust a nut lifting a tire up on that thing how about just laying the tire flat in the piece with the ratchet strap holding it - and use whatever you were gonna weld to your design to hold it down....low center...

    having to ask how to do it - indicates that you probably dont have the skills required to salvage that tank.....the pro would cut out the dented section with either a plasma or abrasive cut off wheels and weld in new steel - formed to match the tank...probably tig weld it.....with the small tig...
