My brother works for a company that is pulling all if it's diesel trucks out of Kali, they are doubling their charges to Kali customers and using gas or LP trucks. Why? The local commies are fining them for idling the trucks if they stop for more than 60 seconds. So no deliveries unless you...
Awesome, I was in Norway a couple of times for training. I wonder if that truck was on the same base I was working on? We had some amazing caves on base that the Germans built in the granite hillside just below the base. They had tons of goodies stored there, some of the German. They wanted...
Where is your A3? I drove mine from Georgia to Washington state with no problems. If you have a good running truck all you need is a good service and the ability to enjoy 50mph for long periods. It got between 10-12 mpg depending on headwinds and temps.
I guess I got lucky. I bought a trailer earlier this year. It looked like new in the pictures and it turns out it was 10 months out from a fresh overhaul and new everything. The best 330 bucks ever spent.
I know this is not in the least bit useful, but I really like having a trailer for...
That was for the original Caterpillar fuel filter that was high mounted on the engine. It is unused on the A3 set-up. The engine is bought as a unit from Cat and installed by AM General. It has fittings and attachments that are not used in every application. Like most truck builders using Cat...
Thats a good looking truck, of course it would look better with a series of larger pics so the rest of us can enjoy too. Share some details, how much, how's it running, does it have a history? Don't make us beat it out of you,,,,[thumbzup]
Nobody ever said they did not want help from "A2 owners". Everybody seemed to say that they did not want the devisive and snide comments that you call help. That's different.
Good Luck and Best Wishes to you as well.
The story itself is horrible but the fact it was a "military truck" was pretty much totally unimportant. An F-250 would have killed them as well and any large commerical truck would have done the same thing.
The outstanding part is that the GI's got their wrecked truck safely stopped and went...
That's the one. Close it and adjust the regulator to suit your needs and life should be a lot better.
JollyRoger, as they say, "Don't go away mad, just go away". I stay out of A2 posts when I do not have useful input. I don't feel the need to call them cheap, or ugly or to comment on some...
Before you start taking things apart for no reason you might want to check a few things.
There is a valve on the firewall above the engine in front of the driver, make sure the petcock is closed. This provides air to the steering. If it is still to heavy, there is a regulator on the left...
I'd agree with the above post and if you need to, call a lawyer and get the legal definition of "Property". I live across the street from a commerical truck driver and they ignore a similar law because he parks in the driveway.
Nevermind there is a commerical tractor sitting in the front...
I have now spent quite a bit of time in both. The A3 works for me. I use my truck for hauling and some cross country work on some property I own in the middle of nowhere. I like both types I just like the A3 better.
The only M35 series truck I never enjoyed was the fuel truck. When loaded it...
Not to wander off subject with the A2 apologists, but All of the things I've have said are common with A2's are common with A2's. I've driven quite a few and they lack power steering, mufflers and have marginal brakes as built for the military. There are a dozen posts with a rod through the...
Ellsworth SD and a couple of other places have had some awesome AF A2C's. I'm keeping an eye on six sitting in a DRMO yard in my state.
With regards to the A3. Other than the CTIS, I'd love to know what mysterious "electronics" are on them and why they are so hard to repair. I can't find any...
I have an A3, it has power steering, automatic trans, super singles, actual heat and defroster, electric wipers, modern air brakes and an improved drivers seat. I have had zero trouble with mine. I can buy trans and engine parts at a Cat dealer or brake parts commerically. I don't have to...
What do you want to do with the truck? An A2 and an A3 really are two apples and not apples and oranges. If you are looking for differences in hauling or towing, ability to handle a grade or plow through mud they are probably close.
The A3 has a lot of updated equipment and all are reman'd...
There are more than a few A3 posts that can fill you in on the details of an A3. Most of what you hear from A2 guys is wrong, much like the above quote. I've driven both and the A3 might be a couple of mph slower but it is a better truck for regular use, hands down.
The A3 uses a considerable...
I went to NAPA and got a couple of lawn tractor batteries for a bit more than wally world, they work perfectly and require a lot less fuss than two old GI batts.
I'm bidding on a couple of pallets there and need to find shipping or at least get them off base. They are about 600 pounds. Any shipper recommendations or a local assist would be awesome. Yeah, you can skip the "Uship" suggestion right away.
