I recovered my deuce from Georgia all the way to Washington state on my own. I lined up two different flakes who do business off of this board and both disappeared. I was perfectly willing to spend a reasonable amount of money, I just required the truck be picked up on a specific week...
The trans sounds pretty normal actually. I grilled my brother, he has been a commerical truck mech for twenty years and he is ok with it. I swapped mine back from motor oil to ATF as soon as I got it. That runs a lot cooler and has less chance of failure. You can buy the internal filter and...
If all your tags and probably the manufactor dates on the rims and date of rebuild on the alternator say 1996 then you truck is probably assembled in 1996.
They are ALL assembled to the same 1993 specs, safety and emmissions standards no matter when they are built.
If you take a look at...
I bought an M35A3 last spring. As far as cost vs. value goes that is where they are winners. I got a truck that the DoD paid nearly $62,000 for and they had to throw in $29,000 worth of parts to get the thing. It had 6300 miles on it and was shipped to the military with a 36 month/150,000...
My truck is tagged 9/98. Since the fiscal year for Uncle Sam starts the following month you could argue my truck is 1998 or 1999 made.
I'm guessing since the axles tags are 9/98, alternator 9/98, rims stamped 9/98 and about every other date code available including four of the tires is 9/98...
I picked up mine in April. After turning the CTIS off and leaving it off the tire problems slowed down a lot. I have one slow leaker that loses about 3 pounds a day and one that loses a pound a day and will fix them over the winter.
Nice truck, mine was desert tan and even had the same seat...
She likes you, looks good and wanted a big army truck for recreation so she bought one. She is pretty easy on the eyes and enjoys your hobbies, that is a tough combo to find. I found it and she is all mine from now on, it only took me 18 years.
Ditto this, the aux fuel is controlled by the float switch in the fuel tank. The aux fuel pump cycles to keep it about 3/4 full as the unit runs. It is the same on all of the MEP series I think. We used the stingers and 55 gallon drums all the time and never had problems.
150 gal tank...
Heaters are a good resisitve load, they are a big power drain in a small package. I use a circular saw or the tablesaw to add a load if I have something to cut as well.
I was wondering what you guys use to power equipment off your gensets?
I won a MEP-002 a couple of months ago and built a junction box of sorts, we used to do this in the military and I like the idea.
Basically I bought a waterproof flexible power cable for an a/c or spa, 6 feet long with...
If you have a MEP-002 or 003 before you try to boild a garbage can of salt water, I'd go for some safer. If you built a small power box with a four outlet box and a couple of pieces of romex to power each outlet seperately you can plug four things into your trusy MEP.
I used two 1500 watt...
Paying even 2K for a decent MEP-002 is a great deal. The MEP's are powerplants, intended to run full time for extended periods. They are so much better built than the typical hardware store generator it is not funny. If you take a look at any civilian diesel genset of similar size they are...
The easiest way to fix it is to get a better woman. BUT, since that is never as easy as it sounds try reason. I talked with my lovely wife and she understood that for what I was going to use a truck for this was cheaper and far tougher than an F-250. I know that when I'm done they truck will...
