Doghead,
That kinda looks like a Belden compression crimp tool (or a knock-off). They make some really good crimpers that don't damage the connector during the crimp process.
The searches I have done regarding this don't turn up the exact info I want. I've seen people talking about DIY rebuild kits. I assume that is for the regulator. Has anyone rebuilt an alternator on their Deuce and/or taken it to a shop with any success? I have a rebuild place in Cedar Rapids...
You are talking about the fuel cutoff lever on the IP? I checked that this spring when this all started. I have to admit that I haven't looked at it since I have replaced the ITP. It could be sticking. I'll look at it again.
Well, I wondered the same thing. What befuddles me is that it ran just fine when I backed it in the machine shed last fall. Is it possible that something froze last winter? I have the batteries charging tonight. Tomorrow, I will try it again with good batteries and see what happens.
Ok, back on track. I finally got around to working on my deuce some more. I have the new in-tank pump installed and power to it. It runs when the switch is on. It creates awesome fuel flow. I have fuel flow all the way through the system...through the primary and secondary fuel filters, at each...
Glad everybody is ok. The article said that a vehicle was merging and came to a stop at the top of the ramp. I hate it when people do that...this is what can happen.
I deal with shipping quotes all the time and if you want your truck shipped right now, then you can expect to pay in that $2K range. If you are willing to be patient and get several brokers to quote you, often you can catch a backhaul or partial that can accommodate you for a lot less...maybe in...
Second that! That is a magnetic drive, not shaft driven. If you are positive your impeller spins, then there are only three other options: 1) the intake screen is plugged (no fuel to the impeller), 2) the impeller is screwed up, deformed, worn out, or clogged with something. 3) the outgoing...
So here are the pics from this weekend's fuel pump swap. As you can see, I could not get the plug out of the old pump without some major surgery. I used sidecutters and cut the socket on the old pump and then used slip joint pliers to rip it around the plug. The metal tore surprisingly easily...
Thanks Gimp, I just got my old wire and plug out. They fit very snugly into the plug on the Parker. I made a couple of additions also just to insure that it doesn't come out. I'll share the pics as soon as I can get them uploaded.
I'm chasing down fuel issues with my deuce as noted in the attached thread. However, I thought I'd devote a short thread specifically to the Parker pump in case someone in the future wanted to search just for that...
Am subscribed to this thread. Please keep the info coming on how your experiment works out. I too have been considering 931 or 932 for hay/grain operations in offroad conditions that aren't suitable for regular road tractors. I have been wondering about the differences and modifications to be...
Kipman, I just sent you paypal for that ITP. Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve for getting my old wire plug out of the old pump without damaging the plug?
My thoughts exactly. Hopefully nothing major got sucked up that open fuel line and is lodged in a line. I'll force air back through from the first filter when I change filters.
Ok, so when I got home from work last night and finished my chores, I went to the machine shed to start on the deuce. I found that there were only three screws holding the ITP assembly in (the other holes were siliconed over and I had never noticed that). Once I got the ITP out, I found that I...
Thanks Kipman, once it stops raining here, I'll take the old one out and see if I indeed need one. If that's the case, I'll definitely give you a call. This weekend has been totally frustrating since I had lots of plans for the deuce in addition to all my farm and livestock work. It has been a...
Thanks Patracy! That was a great thread to learn from. It sounds like I have a lot to learn once I tear into this. It has been raining here since Saturday @ 0300, so that really slows down my mechanic work. It has given me time to stare at the TMs and worry about what all could possibly be...
