Glad to see you are taking the tough but necessary steps to secure your future. You have reached the point where you are sick and tired of being sick and tired...to quote Dave Ramsey. You will soon reach the point where you realize how much wealth you are missing out on simply by making loan...
Do NOT file bankruptcy! It stays with you forever no matter what else they tell you. You have too much stuff to file bankruptcy. Sell stuff. Downsize. Pull yourself up. It's totally do-able. I used to have a LOT of debt and live paycheck to paycheck. The credit cards and debt piles up...trust...
Thanks for your service. I appreciate it and feel for you in this situation. The one thing I see that you left out of this scenario is security. How do you keep your stuff in the deuce secure while you are at work? Also, do you envision your daughter visiting you while you are "camping"? How...
That lever is to engage the PTO for the dump. It has 4 positions, High, Low, Neutral and Reverse. I leave it in the high side all the time and use the lever on the left side of the driver's seat to open or bypass the hydraulic valve to raise or lower the bed.
Repaint cab interior and replace passenger seat
2 more little things checked off the list! As I mentioned before, the old seats were junk and I scored a couple decent used cushions off ebay for about $70 including shipping.
This morning I used a wire wheel and finished knocking off what little...
OK, so here how this played out. I mounted the flasher assembly to the inside of the fender the way it was supposed to be. There were holes already there for it. I then had to do some rewiring on the plug. I originally stated that it was a 2-wire plug, but on closer inspection, it is 3-wire with...
Thanks to you both. There is a grounding wire coming out that goes to a lug on the firewall. But for some reason someone before me has this zip tied to the fender. I'll work on the grounding aspect and also see if I can get it mounted properly.
flasher
04mustang & cattlerepairman where is that flasher? I don't find mine on the firewall. Would this be it?
Ok. I can't get this pic uploaded from my phone, but what I'm looking at is a black thing zip tied to the inside of the fender. It is a little bigger than a deck of cards with what...
Thanks for your help. That hydraulic setup is VERY beefy. It came off a Mack dump truck with a 16ft box. It will dump waaaayyy more than the standard 12 ft M35 cargo box will handle. I'm tempted to beef up the box a little, but that's way down on the priority list. It's probably better to just...
Here's what I have done so far...
1) Wire brushed and repainted the hard top and mounted it.
2) Replaced the two batteries
3) Replaced the battery cables
4) Fixed a flat tire
5) Changed the oil and filters
6) Replaced the driver's seat (what was left of it) with a new one from TNJ Murray -...
I forgot to mention, the seller also threw in a generator trailer, cargo cover, and a hard top that was sitting in the weeds. We pulled the truck out and I thought I was going to have to use the recovery winch on the detach to load the deuce, since it had been sitting for a good while. There...
Ok folks, so still being relatively new to SS, I am really gaining a lot from everybody. When I did my first post, one of you gave me the assignment to share all my pictures, especially of any rebuilding project. When I first got my deuce, I mainly bought it for projects around the farm, but...
All those years of 4'-6' of snow melting each spring has not been kind to stuff underneath the truck. Lots of rusted nuts, bolts, etc. under there.
on the bright side...it's a good thing you live in Idaho. There's no way the whole truck would be in that good of shape here in the midwest. The...
Mine had the name "Big Woody" stenciled on the door, and I heard it's bad luck to change the name. The neighbors all get a kick out of it, so it's gonna stay that way.
I agree with Bcurtman's assessment on the push connect fittings. They are super easy to use and cheap to replace if one goes bad (I've never had one go bad, but I have cracked a couple if they get hit with something). I also use standard airline tubing - Linear Low Density Polyethyene - in 3/8...
