My deuce has always started easily. After sitting in the barn all winter, I drained the oil, flushed the case with some new oil, changed the oil and added spin-on oil filters. The truck sat for a couple weeks and it won't start. It cranks but it acts like it is not getting fuel. I don't get...
Hi folks. I use numerous freight brokers at work for handling all types of equipment and LTL (Less-than-truckload) freight. I was talking to one of my best ones this morning, and she indicated that she would be more than happy to help out any MV'ers who need anything transported. Her name is...
Sounds like your set up is pretty thorough. I was referring specifically to the bed itself based only on my experience with my truck. I have a straight ram and a reinforced frame and I rarely have to worry about tweaking the hoist. I'm just saying that the beds weren't designed to be dump beds...
Can't believe I just saw this thread. Let me know if you need pics of anything on my truck. My only concern with using the regular deuce bed is that while it may work fine for hauling mulch or dirt, it really wasn't designed to dump rock, rip-rap or anything really heavy. You will notice this...
Nice! Welcome to the site. Wish I could help you out with some info, but all I can do is admire your find! Hope you put tons of pictures on here of all your progress.
Somewhere on here, I thought I saw a thread about deuces being used as fire trucks / brush trucks. Now, all I can find are individual threads about member's specific trucks and I don't want to hijack the thread. If a mod thinks this belongs in a thread dedicated to this, please move it...
40 inches is pretty standard for step-decks, but make sure you verify that with your hauler. I haven't measured a 923, but I bet you could haul it without having to pull the wheels. Thats a lot of extra work especially if you only need to gain a few inches. In my mind it's a lot cheaper to pay...
I pull a 48 foot step deck often. Deck height on my trailer is just a tad under 40 inches. As long as anything I haul is 10 feet or less in height, I am under legal height. Anything over that will need an oversize permit which will cost you between $15 and $50 depending on the state. If you are...
Gyrogear, Welcome! I'm almost a newbie myself. Only been on here for not quite a year. I'm originally from southeastern MO myself, so I'm familiar with your area in the center of the state. I live a couple-three hours northeast of you now, but I get down there quite a bit. I need to get down to...
Nice job finding these! I read your other post about the story behind these. Do you plan on keeping everything? If you get in the mood to sell anything with a dump box, let me know. Keep the pictures coming and thanks for sharing this find!
What an incredible and tragic story. Hopefully the OP can make lemonade out of lemons and do right by these cool old trucks. I'd be tickled to here what your plans are and see more pics of your great find!
My arrangement to have these picked up fell through and it looks like I may have to delay my plans to pick up my seats and sides. I'd sure be willing to help someone out with fuel if they happen to be in that area and have the room.
