A few days ago I took the deuce with hot water personnel heater out for a quick drive around town. It was night and I didn't notice a pool of coolant laying on the drivers fender until I shut the truck down. Once I saw the coolant on the fender, I tracked the coolant down to the filler neck...
Thanks for the link. That's sure a ton of money for a cart, even with it having a 1200 pound rating! I think I'm going to go for Harbor Freight's cheapest trailer. I can throw the genset and fuel, wire, and other supplies on it and drag it on the highway.
I have been looking for a solution to dragging the set around my wet yard too. BTW, Harbor Freight casters don't work... Where did you get that cart from and how much was it?
Switching it to 240/480 should be as easy as removing the 12 or so nuts on the voltage reconnection board that's under the front left access panel, move the card so the arrow points at 240/480 instead of 120/208 and crank the nuts back on. Of course make sure the generator is off and safetied in...
The injector return line on my 016B is leaking like a sieve. I took a few minutes to try to figure out how to change it and it looks like it would be a simple job of using the remnants of the existing line as a pull-string if it weren't for a single tie-wrap buried below the sheet metal. It...
A definite thanks to Tim and family for hosting the rally, and thanks to everyone I met and got to talk to this year. It's great to be able to put faces to screennames.
I haven't driven the deuce without air pressure being built up, so I have no clue whether the truck stops worse without air, but the pedal certainly feels the same with or without air. My pedal isn't spongy at all, it's quite hard. While I can stop the truck fine without standing on the brake...
I know it's hard to quantify into words, but how hard should the brake pedal feel on a proper deuce brake system? Initially my brake pedal had quite a bit of free play and was moderately hard once the free play was taken up, and the truck stopped pretty well. Quite a while ago (year or 2 at this...
I'll be there for the day. I'm not sure if I'm coming in the deuce or not, but if I do drive the deuce, I'll find a spot by the driveway so I can leave in the evening with ease.
Do you think a seat like that will fit in the cab of a deuce? I'm assuming the deuce and 900 series cabs are very similar in dimensions, but the deuce has a larger steering wheel and the trap door for the master cylinder to contend with. How high is the actual seat cushion from the baseplate...
The house has 4 window a/c units with a rating of around 15k BTUs each. I also had the water heater, washer, and the well pump running to try to simulate a maximum load. I ran the test this past weekend so ambient temps were in the mid 70s. The load percentages I listed were observed on the...
I know there has been talk in numerous threads about runtime in various amounts of overloading of the MEP-002/003 generators, but after some searches using the site's search and google with the site:steelsoldiers.com string, I can't seem to find it. I used keywords like mep-003, overload...
My guess is it's the civvy version of the 003 engine. From what I've read, the military ordered their engines with the starters on the flywheel end where civvy engines had it on the blower wheel end.
