Are the 2-pin slave ports rebuildable? I need to replace the cables coming out of the back of the slave port with longer cables to reach now that I'm running non-stock batteries on my MEP-016b genset. I haven't pulled it out of its bracket yet, but was hoping someone knew off-hand.
The generator has been sitting outside with no fuel in the tank for close to a year, so it's entirely possible that it's condensation. I do know it's best to keep the tanks as full as possible while in storage to prevent condensation, but this genset's been a work in progress so I didn't keep...
Cool. Reason I ask is because I think I have a slight water leak from rain into the fuel tank. I'm going to change the gasket on the fuel cap since it looks flattened and worn, but I can't figure out how water go defy gravity to get over the lip of the tank. Any ideas on where the water could be...
I'm pretty sure I found the cord grips at Home Depot this past weekend, but I didn't have a hunk of the cable to test-fit the proper size. Hopefully next weekend I can pick them up. Thanks all for the help so far.
I'm about to start building a small distribution panel for my generator and picked up some 10/3 SJOOW for a good price. I'm going to run the cable into a couple of weatherproof outlet boxes. Trouble is, I have no idea what type of conduit fitting is the proper watertight fitting for SJOOW since...
I'll try the shim first, after I replace the battery cables to make sure I have brand new ends on the cables. I'm also going to use a Napa battery disconnect...
I'm using the 6TLs that came from my deuce now on the MEP-003a. In a fit of forgetting to tighten the battery clamp on the battery before starting it, I've managed to partially melt the negative post on the battery. Here's what it looks like:
It's at least half still there with just a hole in...
I was planning to mix the WMO with diesel in somewhere between a 75/25 diesel/oil mix, potentially down to 50/50, but I was planning to blend it in the deuce tank. I don't want to run too much WMO in the mix to try to avoid coking.
I have read about people using SBC oil pumps to move oil too...
I have an old Chevy throttle-body fuel pump that was pulled from an 80s bodystyle Suburban that was still good when it was pulled. Would it be able to push WMO through a couple of spin-on filters, specifically a waterblock filter to be later filtered through filter bags?
I'm looking to heat up...
I'll try to check the vent tube tomorrow. I do have lots of trouble with wasps and mud daubers around here. I'll also pick up a new radiator cap. That was on the list of cheap fixes.
I do fill the radiator all the way up the neck. I didn't realize I was supposed to run it lower, but it does...
