Lately it seem the colder it gets the harder it is to turn the key. today it was 2* and it took two hands to turn it. I have a new key and ignition but don't know how to remove it.

I just picked up some 3/8 steel rod, bent it into shape with vice grips and a hammer. I tack welded it in to place. I will get some photos in the morning. it is raining out right now.
