    tall and narrow tires

Slick, look into STA Superlugs. They are bias ply but get good reviews. Sorta half way between an AT and a MT. Side lugs but tight center lugs. Fit stock on the stock rims.

Not without lift. The 11.00-20's that is. Not to mention NDT's suck for road driving and are meh offroad.

I'm around. Got that NV4500 in I think you said? How's that going? Petoskey eh? Used to live in Traverse City. Don't miss the snow at all. Do slightly miss the moderate temps.

    M1009 rear spring pack question

Can anyone describe the M1009's rear spring pack to me? My K5 needs new rear springs and I have found a local who is selling NOS GM rear spring packs for M1009's that he bought surplus. Crazy cheap price.8) He THINKS they are 5 leaves + the overload. My current springs are 4 leaf plus the...

    tall and narrow tires

If you want to get aggressive there are some options in the narrow 35-36" tall world. Swampers and the like. However they're less road friendly, more expensive, and heavy. Sadly we can't get the 9.00R16 Michelin X series here in the States. Those would be perfect for the M1008's.

    Ford CUCV

Ah true. My Dodgish is rather below my GMese.

Yep. Guy who used to own an offroad shop in Grand Rapids, MI once worked for Stroppe and met Ted that way. When Ted took the Bronco to Michigan later and he was no longer with them he did maintenance and work on it. Had a bunch of pictures of himself and Ted hunting and with various dead animals.

    Ford CUCV

Ted's trucks have been made by private individuals. The Ford CUCV rumor is false. I used to know the guy who built his current 90's Bronco.

Stranger things have happened. I saw a M1028 with a SM465 manual in it once.

The military rated all of the trucks by the actual weight they could carry. This is how the Dodge 3/4 ton truck was rated as a 1.25 ton. Same with the Chevy 1 ton being rated the same and the Chevy 1/2 ton K5 being rated as a 5/8 ton or whatever it was called. The 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton ratings...

Maybe the military rated it as such but it was just the Dodge D250 "3/4 ton".

Somebody made it then. There never was a military Bronco. GM got the contract due to being the only maker at the time that used a diesel in their light trucks and SUV's (very early 80's) and parts commonality with the HMMWV's driveline.

different types of transmissions for m1028

FYI - The CUCV pickup family have 4.56 gears.

Is it worth it? Air cleaner and exhaust mod.

You're not going to see much better out of a M1009 without OD. A civilian Blazer with OD, highway gears, and smallish tires would do better.

Is it worth it? Air cleaner and exhaust mod.

You can see light through any filter if you put it right on it. You'd be better off with a K&N or regular filter in the stock housing and then creating a cold air intake setup to the OEM knock out in the core support. I did this on the M1008 I had using a combination of civy parts and a duct I...

M1009 - Front Leaf Spring Question

What he said. Rough Country is just that...rough. Infamous for riding poor and having no flex. Look into Tuff Country or BDS.

    20 inch wheels

Anything bigger than 16" = expensive. sharecropper used split rims. Unneeded with the modern radials. HEMTT's, PLS's, MTV's etc all use 1 piece rims now. There are a bunch of custom wheel makers out there.
