8 x 6 1/2 in. - 20 in. - Wheels - Wheels & Tires - SummitRacing.com
Any of those wheels should fit those tires just fine. You'd want a backspacing around 4-5" and a width around 8-10". They aren't cheap and most are bling bling but they'd all work off the shelf. Been done before. Whoever's...
They're full of ****.
Notice the picture above with the big white Chevy? Taaaadaaaaaaaaa!
They don't have a special bead lip or anything on the wheels. Just a large version of a normal bead lip. The only trouble is they're heavy duty as heck so they're harder to mount than your normal light...
I have a '89 K5 with a 6.2L. I'm currently using a CUCV CDR in it. The CDR is in the same place as my M1008's was. Only setup that I know of different were the early double plane intakes.
So are you actually using THESE NAPA CDR's? You never did actually state that.
CDR's are supposed to...
Plenty of folks have run the newer 20" radials, Michelin and others, on commercial 20" light truck wheels. LOTS of pictures of it. You don't need a special rim or anything to run the modern Radials. BEEN. DONE. BEFORE.
Bling bling 20" rims + military surplus Michelin radials + big truck =...
I purchased one of those for Big Ugly once. Didn't work. Didn't line up with anything, the hose didn't fit, and the hole in the valve cover was larger than either of the nipples on the "CDR Valve".
Did yours actually work? Every time we have this discussion someone brings up these NAPA...
That's the old 70's M88x family. Lead to the GM CUCV as the Dodges weren't built heavy duty enough (as in only 3/4 ton, not a slight on the trucks per say).
Actually I've run load range D or E tires under fullsize Chevy's and Dodges for years now at around 30-35psi just fine. In fact, factory recommendation on those trucks was 35psi even. Works fine.
I've said my piece.
Little late but nice score.
A-you don't need anywhere near 8" of lift to clear 36x12.5's.
B-The HMMWV tires are okay offroad but not super great. Might want to go with a better offroad tire unless it's only a budget choice.
C-Go crossover, skip the drop arm crap.
D - Offroad Design -...
Personal opinion...low miles and you are in the rust belt...ask for $5500 and hope for $5000. I sold Big Ugly (my 55k 1008 on 38" Michelins) for $4750 in August. I was told by people who meant what they said that I'd be lucky to part it out and make $2k. Others thought $8000.
The market has...
No M1009 here but my '89 K5 with the 6.2L probably weighs more than a M1009 due to them being stripped models basically. I run 30 front and rear and did the same when I had 31's on it. 30 was the factory recommendation for 80's K5's with 31's.
rnd, you're making some VERY general statements...
I've had Rhino Liner in mine for over a year now. Had that petroleum smell for a week or so at first but it went away. Now smells like old GM and Kentucky dust.
Just too dig this up, anyone running these in 285/75R16's or 305/70R16's? Looking for something in that size for The Blazer and liking their Mud Rover type tread.
No clue man. Don't have the truck anymore. Sorry.
I do remember I actually measured mine and bought a different shock than the one offered for the stock truck. Got one with a longer extended length than stock.
You can always call JCWhitney and ask. Their catalog tends to be pretty confusing.
I had a set about 5 years ago in their old school mud tire tread. Did NOT enjoy their customer service at the time and went through quite a hassle over a tread seperation after less than 400 miles and 2 days of use. Got a new tire and all seemed well for most of the next year when I started to...
Thanks, I'll make sure he's aware of this.
Hahaha, no. You're about the 5th offer I've had on the tires. Not worth my time or effort to swap out the tires or sell them separately.
