I'm generally against making assumptions, but since it was in his signature and in the CUCV forum, I guessed it was a 1985 M1009. :-D
I don't have it on mine that I've ever seen. Honestly haven't looked that hard. My tank works fine. You could try loosening it a turn or two and see if it is...
True, that. Doghead's pretty genius with this stuff, but we all encounter new and different things. If I recall correctly, m38inmaineSteel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite - View Profile: m38inmaine
is pretty good with wiring. Remember something about him rewiring the whole truck from...
:ditto: Want to be sure I have the right tools before I dig in this weekend.
I got my gaskets at O'Reilly for around $17 total. Be sure you get the HD manifold gasket. The first one they brought me didn't have the metal inserts in the center holes. The gasket for the pump is only a dollar...
Not a problem. I saw the ebay guy could get more, but I didn't want to pay for shipping, wait times or some mystery person in cyberspace. The local guy also has a harmonic balancer and some other parts for a 6.2. Don't need it right now, but depending on what I can get him down to, it may be...
Gotta agree. Official policy now states that smoking is not authorized in any DOD vehicle or building. In Iraq, I never saw the vehicle policy enforced a single time. Of course, the new Humvees don't have ashtrays, so we'd tape an empty MRE bag to the dash for trash, kill the cigs on our...
No such thing on here, as far as I'm concerned. I'm a chronic overposter, but I get the answers I need. I would venture that's the whole point of having an online forum.
If you already messed with the elements in the steering column and it's still slow, and won't park, it sounds like the motor. No need to check anything, necessarily (some may disagree). I'd order the new wiper motor and replace. I'm often loathe to spend an unnecessary dime, but sometimes an...
Alright. I'll have to run up to the Stanadyne shop to get a replacement face cam then. The original was cracked. No biggie. Have a 96 this weekend so I'm gonna try and get her running *fingers crossed*. Thanks, again. I'll keep y'all updated, and have plenty more questions, I'm sure...
So I went ahead and got the pump off CL. It looks pretty good. Only question-
It has some sort of electronic component mounted over the face cam, with a plug adapter. Do I need to wire this into my truck somehow? Or do I just leave it hanging. Or do I take it off? Not sure what it's for...
I don't know which is worse. The hack-job of a truck K10A posted, or the whack-job of a poster I found. Maybe they're connected somehow. All I know is, after a few beers tonight, then finding these, I'm having a pretty good laugh.
Looks like they found that in the props warehouse from the "Road Warrior" movie. D***. Now you posted it and everyone will bid it up too high. My post-apocalyptic secret-weapon plans are shot...;-)
Well, it's got 30k miles, and he says those are the "original tires". Whaddya expect?
But that's okay. It's still in the "brake in" period. Maybe those are somehow connected to the power buster...
I'm not exactly an expert on these, but seriously? This had me laughing pretty hard.

Westech-
Not sure what the little disclaimer notes #10 & 11 mean. Am I gonna run into problems because it's a Light Duty?
BTW, the humvee pump is gone, and I should be able to save on time and shipping if I go with the '93 pump. Gonna make a low offer (it's been posted for almost a month)...
Had the exact same thing happen last year. Lights were good. Went in the store, came back out, no lights. Turns out for whatever reason, about half the fuses in the box were shot. None of them looked blown, but when I replaced them all with new, I got everything back, including my underdash...
Pros:
-WRT aftermarket parts, etc, the M1009 is fully supported by the civilian K5 blazer sites. You can easily find what you need that's not military specific on this truck.
-It's NOT expensive! If you look for K5's of the same vintage, you'll likely pay the same or twice as much for a...
Note to self and others (and to add to M1009 FAQ later): Part number for original M1009 was DB2829-4521. (Stanadyne dealers and rebuild shops can usually cross-reference with various other DB2's SS members may find on CL and Ebay to see if they are interchangeable or not).
