Oh a gap will make a huge difference in noise. I tryed the old trick of flipping over the top to get more air in and it was like running open exhaust it was so loud. The floor boards were vibrating so much that my feet started to get numb.
DING-DING-DING, we have an answer. I started by changing the frame mounted primary. Next removed the shut off cover and low and behold there was a lot of fuel in there. It fired right up and ran like a charm. Also as a bonus, I found the leak, and it was leaking big time. I'm thinking that...
Hi Guys;
Back ground M35A2 with a LDT465D, with a bypassed comp. Runing on approx 40% diesel, 50%WMO, 10% old mineral spirts. When I park it it marks it's territory really well with fuel and oil. Last week running like a top, went to a show last last week about an hour and a half away...
Last weekend we were using the inverter that I have in our blazer to run the lights in the tent that houses our military display at an event. We run it for a half an hour every 4 hours or so to recharge the battery. At the last outing that we did this at the blazer "loaded up" really bad and...
We've looked at what we should have on the shelf for spare parts for our M114. The next on our list is a pair of spare road wheels. If anyone has some they would like to sell please give me a bump. Thanks Lew VB
I would make a guess that the "buzzing" was not buzzing, but the contacts of the starter relay under the dash arching, that equals "bad juju". So... I would make sure you had something available {either another relay or be prepared to Doghead it} once you figure out what the original issue is...
Ok, so the way I read this thread, an open plenum is an improvement. Would it be possible to take the existing intake and mill the interior web that divides the intake, out. I like the idea of opening it up just for the ability to run only one of the cvc {I might have the letters wrong} vents...
Yes, that is the intake for the compressor. For fording, you run a hose from there to the tube that is welded to the air filter cansiter that way your compressor is pulling air down your snorkel.

Antique car / MV show and WW2 reenactment as part of the Town of Highland Indiana's Centennial Celebration. Come show your vehicle, hang out & have a good time. The local car club is orgainzing the the car show, but it would be really something to have more OD there than shinny...
CCKW-yes buddy's
Wintertime-no buddy's is perfect-no salt
Half track-yes Brother's might be possible
This is in West MI, where's Mid-michigan. Our location would be best to avoid expensive transportation and exposure to road salt.
We also might be able to help with weapons and...
Diesel is a good thing, mpg is a little higher that what it would be if it were gas, plus these things are pretty good for torque. Somewhat easy to work on, no fancy electronic bs found in vehicles since the '90s. We run 70 on the highway, no big deal, it's "happy place" for speed is 55-65...
Hi Keith,
Not to argue with you, but the alternators and the batteries opperate seperatly on the normal cucv's like the m1009. The first alt charges the first bat and the second alt charges the second bat. That is what is nice about this charging sysem vs the 24v system in the other MV's...
I second the "get the univeral" idea. With ours, the washer pump went south just after we bought it. We bought new pump off from e-bay and 4 months later, that pump stopped working. We gave up and stopped over at Adavanced Auto and picked up the universal kit for less than $20 and in 5...
This isn't original, what worked great for us, go to the hardware store and pick up hole plugs like they use with plumbing and on boats, you know, the ones with the rubber plug between the 2 washers, with the carrage bolt and wing nut. We went with the wing nut to the inside, and it's a snap to...
Ours had that one, the center part of the nut is round on the outside, then there are 6 "roll pins" that are held on by and outerband. There is a snap ring that is holding in a little key, remove the snapring. You thread a 4-40 machine screw into the end of the key, pull that key out and you...
