Rick you can come on down anytime you feel like it. That nut broke from a front hole believe it or not just got under and held it with the vice grips. I like your pop rivet idea and assume a larger piece of thicker gauge metal would work just fine behind that crack?
Short day as I don't normally like working on Sunday aside from cleaning cars etc. changed out the original wiper arms , new blades, and got the glow plugs changed. The plugs were not swollen but we were getting hard starts etc. and looked like the original plugs. We also cleaned the wire...
I bought mine off Govdeals.com from a local police department and they'd purchased it from Ft Knox. I'm in mine for about what your budget is but I must warn you about the addiction. Good luck.
Got wiper arms and new blades, and glow plugs to do tomorrow. We also have the inner fenders to do. I wanted to add a photo of an upcoming project for restoration. Any guesses as to what it is?

Started out trying to get the dash done. Mostly because my son was geeked up to do it. I went with the non-OEM poly replica in black. First you'll see what was behind it, second is how bad the dash looks after we got it out, and what the replacement looks like in the box. Ran out of light so...
Thanks very much for the information; I always cut too big and trim downward if needed. Looking on the other thread, I have a dang good idea on how to proceed with rocker panels and those two rear holes. Have you ever thought of using PVC pipe for a gas filler cover? I hate paying LMC for...
