Doghead is it hard to rebuild the alt myself. I do all my own work just never mess with stuff like this.

Will there be some type of plastic sleeve between the stud and case??? Just so I know what to look for.

Thank you doghead and rtk. When I bought the truck the place I got it said they had to replace that alt and it looks new. Its not noisy when you spin it by hand but I will call the local starter and alt rebuilder and see what he will charge. Still don't understand why the gen2 light went out.

Just painted my m1008 its a 1986 with 32987 original miles. Will be replacing the crossover pipe when I get one and and doing the dog head relay mod then she will be my daily driver can't wait.

Yea am loving my m1008 thinking about buying a m1009 and deuce in the future I need to call to make sure I don't need a CDL in Michigan to drive the deuce tho.
