Yes, there have been failures, whether it is "often" or not I'll leave for you to decide. IMO, it's the most unsafe thing of the HMMWV/H1 design. Two members on the Hummer Network had wheels fly off at interstate speeds this year. It's not exactly a large crowd of owners.
Engineering wise...
Yep, it's expensive. But I bet once you priced out the civilian locking kits you'd find it's probably on par with their price. And theirs is not a positive lock. And everytime you remove the hub to replace the crappy seals in the hubs you'll be replacing the $8 geared washer.
It was an easy...
Kascar responded with the same dimensions as above.
I've already had one automotive glass company turn me down. They didn't stock 5/16", only 1/4" and 3/8". And only in 14% and 44% tint. VA law requires 50%. Trying to find other sources.
I bought front X-Doors for cheap that needed repair and were missing the frames and windows. I have purchased the frames and small parts from Kascar, but will also need windows which I don't currently have.
Kascar is working to get dimensions for me also. Have I mentioned how awesome they...
Has anyone had X-Door windows made and know which size to use?
I'm seeing there are two different types available, a basic armor and a supplemental armor. I'll have the basic armor window frames, so that's my main interest. But might as well share all info if anyone else needs something later...
I was so confident, too. Ha!
Looks like I'm wrong. No mention in any documentation about it. Only aftermarket transfer cases appear to have had the 2WD option.
This information is false --> 2006 Hummer H1s with the Duramax had a 2WD position on the transfer case and I believe they still had the same diffs. Free wheeling the front diff didn't seem to be a problem to them. <---- This information is false.
However, it's possible the diffs were...
The DMV responded with:
"Thank you for your correspondence. DMV has not taken any action at this time."
I'm happy they responded... but the veiled threat is still there. "At this time" being the operative phrase. :/
No word from the DMV. My federal congressman has contacted the NHTSA on the issue, he might be considering a federal law to give protections to surplus equipment. I have informed him that the states are basically making it impossible for the feds to surplus equipment, and it is therefore a...
M1123 - 6.5L Optimizer N/A with 4L80e. Running 25 to 30 psi, I calculate fuel economy for every tank. Almost every one has been 12 mpg with driving 45 with stoplights mixed in. 14 mpg at 55 with no stoplights. 10 mpg while trail riding and country highways.
My M1123 runs 2500 RPM at 65 MPH and I think THAT'S fast in it, haha!
I find myself petting it saying "easy girl, easssyyyy... not much longer now..." :gimp:
If you take any vehicle on the market, and give it to 300 separate 18-21 year old men and tell them to drive through a war zone and someone else will maintain it and pay for the damages… you’re likely to end up with some horror stories. When you neglect machines but keep them in service, more...
I agree. But if the data is correct, I don’t see any way that it is good. And I’d agree that further testing would be required.
If heat is being taken from the front of the engine to the rear somehow, that would cause the fan to run less frequently since the sensors for the fan are located...
