bad crack on the right front side of the Goat

Mine used to make a pretty good pop in the right front too. You could feel it with your feet when it let go if you were sitting in the passenger seat. I was worried about it at first, but determined that it was where the coil spring in the right front suspension fit up into the socket on the...

    Odd dash

If I remember correctly 1962 Studebaker-Packard M35A1s were the first multifuel 2 1/2 tons. I believe that your A1 came from the factory with the 427 engine and the tach hanging under the dash. My Dad used to have one of those with the original engine.

Hey maddog, I think someone named Tony in FL has already built Mr. Nice. He bought some replica M60s and M16s from me a year or two ago... I'll look and see if I still have the pictures he sent me.

    Firefighting Deuce from Happyland, Oklahoma

Our department has two 1,200 gallon A3 tankers configured similar to your A2. They replaced our A2s a couple years ago. Personally, I don’t like them. They are overloaded and feel extremely unstable on the hilly and curvy mountain roads with the super singles. Since you have your CTIS already...

Help Figuring out what kind of truck I have

Yes, I believe that engine is a LDS-427, so that truck is an A1, not A2.

    M151 Identification??

It still has the original suspension, look at the pictures. If for no other reason than the fact that it still has the hub mounted lifting rings; there is no doubt in my mind that there is not a solid axle under it…;-)

    M151 Identification??

Actually, it appears to still have an A1 engine in it, though the vacuum pump has been replaced with an A2 mechanical fuel pump. Note that it has two fan belts instead of three, the oil pressure switch above the fuel pump, the 25 amp solid state regulator on the firewall, and the early upper...

Need a Wilton vice for your wrecker?

Call Larry at 770-887-7931 He is located in GA and has a few Wiltons that are very similar to the originals with the proper base so the bolt holes will line up with your mounting plate! Prices vary; I think we talked about $125-$250 depending on condition, though it has been a few months since I...

    800 Series Grilles

If my understanding is correct, the tube type grill came on the early trucks from the factory. I believe that the slat type was a replacement since the early ones were kind of flimsy and prone to rust and damage. I think that the slat type may be factory original on some of the later production...

    2008 GA Rally Multimedia Thread

As others have said, thanks to Clint and everyone that worked to put on this event. I had a great time and can’t wait till next year! Maybe we could have a spring time trail ride there too? Dave, I put a little over 310 miles on the goat over the weekend. About 285 of that was on the road, most...
